WASHINGTON
Sen. Hillary Clinton has called on General Mills to put New York's Bravest and Finest on Wheaties boxes.
"In this age of celluloid superheroes, America's children have real heroes to look up to, especially in the wake of Sept. 11," Clinton (D-N.Y.) wrote to General Mills' chairman and CEO, Steve Sanger.
She endorsed an online petition, posted at www.petitiononline.com/sgt964/petition.html, that calls for a Wheaties box featuring a New York firefighter, cop and transit police officer.
General Mills Vice President Tom Forsythe said the company had weighed the idea but decided it "didn't seem appropriate."
Peter Gorman of the Uniformed Fire Officers Association of New York, said, "I don't see a downside. If young kids think of firefighters and police officers as role models in their communities, that's a good thing."

The next time she shows up at a firehouse for one of these b.s. public relations gigs, they need to hose her down, she's liable to melt.

You might get the idea that she'll do or say anything she thinks will put her in a better light. Her light is a dim bulb but, unfortunately, so are those who voted for her.

She's correct on this one. Wheaties puts pictures of underdeveloped, over trained gymnasts on the cover as heroes. It's about time role model was redefined as someone who actually accomplished something admirable. Starting the day looking at a cereal box with real heroes pictured on it is an excellent idea.

She wants us to forget that she was booed off the stage by our Bravest and Finest when she attempted to talk at them recently.

And, if Laura Bush had started the petition and made the fuss, you'd all be fighting to be first to sign on!

Actually, I think its a better idea is to place the 9-11 villains on toilet tissue. A wonder if she and bill (lower case intentional) will want to be on the same, or separate sheets.

"In this age of celluloid superheroes, America's children have real heroes to look up to"America's children have always had real heroes to look up to. But what would Hillary Clinton know of that? Nothing.
Because Hillary Clinton lives in "an age of celluloid superheroes", she thinks everyone does. Many do not. But what would she know of that? Nothing.

Maybe Hitlery should stick to things she knows about . . . like pardoning terrorists and lifting government silverware.

Hillary finally emerges as a national leader on an issue of overwhelming importance... Hill-arious! (Guess this wraps up the Dem. nomination for her.)

It is a good idea that Wheaties eaters have a reminder in front of them since so many tend to forget or ignore tragedies that happen to "other" people but to me, a Wheaties box is too frivolous a place for the heroes of 911. They did a lot more than win at golf, a race or catching a football. The September heroes sacrificed everything. They did something that doesn't rely on muscles and expertise in any field. They were from all walks of life; they gave from the heart. They are not sports heroes, but are heroes of a larger magnitude who deserve to be put on display in a memorial which they already have been, even if just etched in our hearts. I don't need a Wheaties box to be reminded. I am thoughtful of them every day and they know that!

Why not put Bill on the box...after all, her husband is a cereal liar and sex offender and a hero to the Dumbocrats

I have always objected to the use of phoney patriotism to sell anything.
I don't like President's Day sales, Memorial Day sales, Flag Day sales (unless they're actually selling flags), 4th of July sales, Columbus Day sales and Veterans Day sales (unless they're actually selling veterans).

For once I agree with Hitlery.

You might get the idea that she'll do or say anything she thinks will put her in a better light. You might also get the idea that she's entering her second childhood. Think about it. First she said she wanted a SCHOOL at Ground Zero. Now she wants a say in who gets on the Wheaties box.
If she mentions anything about a Living Allowance in the next few weeks, ping me so I can say "I told you so".

It's a good idea. The people here railing against it would be hailing the idea if someone not from the enemy camp had suggested it.

Heh heh, and the 'Breakfast of Champions' motto could be slightly modified to say 'Breakfast of Perverts', or 'Breakfast of Accused Rapists', or 'Breakfast of Scam Artists' -

She again is using the media to garner votes and support.
If it happens, my guess is she will have her mug on there as well.
Allot of sick little children at breakfast time if that happens.

...and put Hillary inside Al Gore's lockbox. Catchy damage control, substantive thoughts from the smartest people in the world...to be consumed by the masses. Sheepfood for sheeple.
