The FBI fears fuel trucks may be the latest weapon used by terrorists to attack Jewish targets.

Refuses to perform.

June 22, 2002 -- The NYPD yesterday dispatched extra cops to Jewish neighborhoods after the FBI alerted police nationwide to watch out for terrorists who might use fuel trucks to strike synagogues or Jewish schools.

Strictly speaking, this is not an anthrax thread. However, I lack Registered's artistic talent, so until he comes up with an Official Scare-of-the-Week graphic, this will have to do.

I was listening to WLS in Chicago early this morning and a trucker called in and related a story about some men asking him questions about his tanker. He said he usually get a lot of questions about how many gallons does it holds. But never questions about what does this lever do etc.

He said he got the license plate number of the car they were driving and tried to notify the State Police, the Local police and the FBI. They all said there was nothing they could do. It may be nothing but all the media attention about a possible tanker attack and there is nothing for these agencies to check out.

Do these agencies know something that they haven't been telling the public?

I feel much safer, now that I know they are not worried even a little bit. </sarcasm>
