Hardware store workers who sold Abu Jeilani a machete the day before he was shot to death by Minneapolis police told investigators that he spoke and understood English, according to the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office investigation.
But some Somali community leaders denied Friday that Jeilani, who was killed after refusing to drop the machete and a crowbar, spoke English well enough to understand police commands.

Pat Buchanan has written that there are broad regions of the U.S. in which English is seldom if ever heard already. Much of "Mexifornia" would be the center of that.
What do you think is going to happen when some Los Angeles police officer shoots some guy after warning him (in English) to drop an object - and then MEChA's radicals claim the guy who was shot only spoke Spanish? (Or what if the officer warned the guy in Spanish - and MEChA's agitators then claim the dead guy only spoke English?)
See where the coast-to-coast Quebecization of America is leading?
And that's aside from all the other detriments to the quality of public life - from the government schools taught partly in Spanish to Army soldiers not fluent in the English the NCOs give orders in.

Bingo!
You still don't get it. Somalis don't have a militant inside-the-U.S. leadership claiming that much of the U.S. is "theirs" and should be returned to them - and Somalia isn't contiguous to the U.S. either.
What the heck do you think will happen the day after some illegal from Tijuana does a "suicide-by-cop" in Lost Angeles - and the many militant "reconquista" activists there start crying for blood?
