A day in the life of President Bush (photos): 6/21/02

President Bush headed to Florida today to attend a fundraiser for his brother, Gov. Jeb Bush. While in Florida, Bush visited Marks Street Senior Center in Orlando, and spoke once again about physical fitness and addressed the homicide bombings in Israel. The President also attended a senior fitness class while at the Marks Street Center. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

Good morning - are you awake yet, BG?

You're welcome for the Psalm.

If any are here on this thread today - my friend Lex (real name Pat) a longtime Freeper for whom we have prayed before - is really in need of prayer. I will also bumpt he Lex prayer thread. Thanks in advance to anyone who sees this and who would pray for Pat today. (Has cancer - and is perhaps near the end of her physical life. But knows Jesus Christ, and we are assured she will be with Him eternally. Still, please pray for God's healing mercies to Pat, and comfort and help to her family and loved ones and friends. Pray for God's presence to be clearly in that room with this dear lady and surrounding her, bringing an end to her pain and peace to her and to all concerned.) thanks.

Thanks, Wphile. In all honesty, I came very close to leaving FR this week. But thanks to Howlin and many others, I realized that this thread has become a respite for so many- and not just about the President, but a place for friendship, fun, and prayer. It's easy to get down considering the atmosphere lately. But all one has to do is look at the daily dose and realize that there is indeed some goodness and sanity left.

I am all for another mini-inauguration party when Dubya wins his second term! I also think we should plan on a celebration thread when the Republicans win back the Senate.

Well, as I said that week, I think Rush got b!tch-slapped by someone in the White House. Rush has a LOT to lose by burning his bridges- including having Cheney and Rummy boycott his show. Sure, he played it off like it was a nice phone call, but I seriously believe someone told him to get his facts straight before making a fool of himself (and indirectly of the President) again.

Praying for Pat this early morning. <>< May the Lord God be a much needed presence, surrounding her with His tender care. May her family be touched sweetly knowing she'll be in glory soon, with the Father eternally. I pray that the loved ones who do not know You may come to know you this day, through the workings of Your precious Holy Spirit...Amen.

Well...short of a hand upside Rush's head I suppose a good talking to with someone in the Bush administration did the trick. I will continue finding better things to do with my time though than to listen to Rush. He crossed the line imho.

...and YOU, dear rintense, have been instrumental in making that happen. Thank you from the bottom of my little heart. :o)

I still do not listen to Rush. And, you know, he is not always "right". He was wrong about Hillary Clinton - saying for the longest time she would never really run for the Senate. And, look what we have. Sometimes I think if Rush had been quiet about that - she might have not pursued that Senate seat as she did......or maybe she could have been defeated. Rush's in your face approach would make Hillary that much more determined to stomp him - and all who love freedom - down into the dust by winning.

Anyway - I didn't know you were ready to leave this week - though, from glancing at some of the threads - I can understand your thinking about doing just that.

So glad you are still here. Your efforts are much appreciated.

A celebration thread when the GOP takes back the Senate is a MUST! I'll be sipping champagne for sure. OH, please God, let it be true.

You mustn't ever consider leaving FR rintense. We need you and each other too much. I get so sick of the constant carping on the rest of FR but the Dose is wonderful. So many good friends and true political activists. I swear half the people doing the carping don't really do anything to change things or try to be productive political activists. It's so easy to sit at a computer and rant and rave. That's a far cry from actually getting out and trying to get good people elected.

Anyway, we must hang in there and hang stuff, win back the Senate and all will be right with the world again. :o)

It's a gorgeous day and it's my son's 13th birthday. Oh God. And W's wearing shorts! Yeehaw.

The subtitle of The Fat Flush Plan says "the breakthrough weight-loss system that: melts fat from teh hips, waist and things in just two weeks and reshapes your body while detoxifying your system." How about that, eh? It says it's a combination of essential fats, proteins and carbohydrates. We shall see. I'll try to read it this weekend and fill you and everyone in on the nitty gritty.

I would love to read Ann Coulter's book when you are finished. Let me know and I will freepmail my address and we can get that book roaming around the country too!

You have had some pretty insightful remarks about the stock market so...is it ever going to turn? I'm getting really concerned about it and about how this will effect W and the GOP. I was listening to Kudlow and Cramer last night and they had on a conservative business analyst and he said, "many people are shaking their heads trying to figure out just what Bush is up to here. But it is clear that the Bush administration is not nearly as business friendly as many had hoped. In fact, they appear to be less friendly than the clinton administration." Yikes, them be harsh words. Kudlow said that rather than being like "Reagan relative to business, Bush is more like Nixon!" All on the panel agreed with that. Kudlow, of course, blamed a large part of the malaise on the steel tarriffs. I must admit that the backlash on the steel tarriffs has probably been a bit more severe than the Bushies calculated. Anyway, would love to hear your two cents on this.

Hey MG...I forgot to thank you last night for your kind words on the compliment thread. And you are absolutely right. We have all developed wonderful friendships on FR and for me, that has all occurred on the Dose. So, thanks for being a BushBabe and making FR a great place to hang out.

BTW, I read a really depressing article about the Simon campaign and how the White House is troubled by Simon's lack of campaigning aptitude and fundraising abilities. According to this article, Bush is his only savior when it comes to raising money. Hope this isn't true. Seemed like more carping by perhaps, Riordan or Bill Jones people.

Thanks for your civil and kind words on the compliment thread yesterday as well. I appreciate your honest and thorough discourse. Sometimes it doesn't seem possible to have an honest disagreement or assessment of the political environment on FR. Especially of late, the discourse has gotten incredibly harsh. You are a welcome reprieve to the rabidness. And I LOVE your signature!!
