While I don't like the idea of tracking everyone, the ability to track children intrigues me -- at least on a voluntary basis (by the parents, obviously) There are more than a couple missing, no, kidnapped (stupid media) kids right now that maybe some tech could have saved.

Oh, oh...It's for the children!
Pavlov's dog ye be, salivating at the ringing o' the bell.
Isn't that such a nice, friendly gimmick. The State will "protect the children".
Baal worshipers offered up their kids "voluntarily" to death.

When an opponent declares, 'I will not come over to your side, 'I calmly say, 'Your child belongs to us already...What are you? You will pass on. Your decendants, however, now stand in the new camp. In a short time they will know nothing but this new community. Adolf Hitler

It really is all about the children isn't it.
Tomorrows Pavlovian dogs, not knowing any better.
You're a little twisted IMO.

The issue with this is that if the children are tracked, they will continue to be tracked as adults. Young people today are already being conditioned to expect absolutely no right to security in their persons and their property. Go to any high school in a city of over 50,000. Armed guards at the doors, locker and car searches, at many students are required to carry clear plastic back packs to make it easier to see what's inside.

The government seems intent on allowing the lawless to do what they will, and then using that lawlessness to remove the basic freedoms United States citizens used to enjoy.

How many of these kidnapped kids were taken by first offenders? Darned few. However, if I take a guy who's already committed numerous crimes and turn him loose on a playground, chances are a kid will turn up missing. If, instead of putting him someplace where he can't do that again, I continue to allow him to prey on children, I then have a perfect excuse to tag the children to keep them safe.

Would also mention that serial kidnappers like McDuff and Dahmers are pretty rare. The skyrocketing number of children "disappearing" is caused by the skyrocketing divorce and out of wedlock births, and one parent taking the kid from the other.

However, the fact that so many are willing to accept these types of pins "for the children" shows how it will be accepted. Same tactic is used on abortion. Most Americans oppose abortion except in cases of rape, incest, and to save the life of the mother, which makes up less than two percent of all abortions. Whenever the argument is brought up, though, those become 80% of what's being talked about. The reason they want to track kids is so the people in power can, by the time this generation is grown, throw a tracking device on anyone they want. If they really cared about the kidnapping and murder of young children, they'd execute the perp the first time he tried it, and the problem would largely go away. Guys do this for the same reason a dog licks himself. They can.
