I have issues with people who launch unprovoked attacks against me. I'll deal with it when and where it happens. Thanks.

It isn't strange for a heroine addict to check themself in at an E.R. With heroine, they're right on the edge of death a great deal of the time. They're savy about "going out", they know when their habit is taking them over and destroying all their normal bodily functions. They're bowels stop moving, lack of appetite, extreme thirst, memory shot, unable to sleep... etc. They ride the heroine as far as they can and then run to an E.R. or rehab center to detox for awhile. Unfortunately, the percentage rate for heroine addicts fully recovering and staying clean is not very good... unless they reach out and ask Jesus to forgive them and allow Him to overcome their addiction.

Every time I see Elizabeth's father, it breaks my heart. He is a broken man. His face shows more pain than I have ever seen. Elizabeth's mother wasn too sick to appear in public yesterday. The family's Bishop has been cooperating with the police and in fact reported the presence of the suspect at an vigil event. I cannot understand for the life of me why people are criticizing this family. They are beautiful people. The only criticism I could MAYBE understand is that their daughter was too sweet and trusting.

Part of the reason for the lack of coverage in Alexis' case is that her stepfather, who says he dropped her off at school, after which she was never seen again, has a rap sheet which makes Bret Edmunds look like an angel. Even drove the getaway car for a bank robbery which left a police officer dead. He and the mother also put up resistance when police did the routine investigation into them, and they now have a Nation of Islam hack running around claiming their case is being ignored due to racism.I know all that stuff, but I'll bet most outside the Milwaukee area didn't. It's still no reason for there to be less media attention on Alexis. She's the innocent one.
All I'm saying is that it's a damned shame.

Kidnappings happen all the time. Kids don't get kidnapped all the time by gunpoint from their bedroom. I didn't follow the southern California case as much but there wasn't an eyewitness to the kidnapping. She was just missing and we didn't know exactly how.
I think the Elizabeth case hits a little closer to home, thinking that this could have been me and my family. We feel violated and not as safe in our own homes even though it didn't happen to us. This distinction even though it is little, makes this case such a big story. Sure, there might be other factors involved like money and connections but that money and connections didn't buy my interest.

That's just the point...I wouldn't be doing TV interviews. When this first happened and the arents didn't come out to the cameras, I thought.."Thank God, we have some innocent parents". Because of all the camera hounds...Susan Smith....the Ramsey;s, The Van Dams...etc.
You mentoned you were a Mormon, but that should have NOTHING to do with it...it doesn't on my part. I don't know any Mormos or anything about Mormons until two days ago, and then I learned plenty. But this isn;t a religious thing at all. Now if the parents were Wiccans orsomething like that, then that would factor into the abduction....but that's not the case.
I feel sorry for all the inocents in this case and all cases like this.

MSNBC reporting that Edmunds is conscious, in serious condition, and the FBI has spoken with him.

"Thats one hell of an incriminating journal"
And it only exists in the imagination of some NE 'reporter'.

FOX reports the FBI has searched his car and found "no apparent" clues on Elizabeth's fate.

they are beautiful people as are all Mormons.Whoa...don't go there. All faiths include those pretending to be part of the "beautiful people."

CNN reporting that Edmunds was present for a Salt Lake vigil 2 weeks ago and fled when police tried to question him. Maybe this is old news, I dunno.
Take that tidbit, add the fact he's a drifter, heroin user, was seen sleeping in the neighborhood, possibly linked to an escort service, fled the area and got as far away as possible (W. Virginia) and you might have yourself a suspect. Maybe, maybe not.

Polygamists grow their own wives, they basically take multiple wives from their own clan or from another polygamist clan. They like them young, but kidnapping a girl would bring attention to them, and I just don't see that happening.

I apologize for being so abrupt in my previous post, but I hate to see these threads on an abducted girl turned into something else. That's all I am asking.

FOX reports the FBI has searched his car and found "no apparent" clues on Elizabeth's fate. Meaning, no obvious blood, items of clothing, etc.
It'll take them longer to search for things like long blonde hairs, Elizabeth's fingerprints, etc. But if she was in the car, they'll be there.

Your reasoning sounds a little bit like the thought processes of moral relativism. It's different I know, but it's like saying 3,000 people died in New York? So what, that many people die of hunger every day. Or, more people than that died in Somalia, Croatia, Palestine, or wherever and we don't make such a big deal as that. It is how and why it happenned that makes it such a big story.
I don't see how the family is benefitting yet from so much attention. The family gets dragged through the mud and they still don't know where Elizabeth is or who did it. All of the Media attention didn't help the Levys find thier daughter either. I would definitely choose all of the publicity but it definitely has its drawbacks.

National Enquirer story mentioned in another post:
"During one search of a family member's home, police found a horrifying journal alleging the mind-boggling activities of all 3 brothers.....it contained allegations of homosexual activity concerning Dave, Ed, and Tom, including preferences for sadomasochism, a history of their homosexual activity, and details of their wives' knowledge of the brothers homosexuality. The journal also recorded their alleged use of male escorts".
If this is true, it shows how politically correct this country has become when the police can't mention their lifestyle because homosexuality can't be criticized.
If the brothers were involved in homosexuality, there is a good chance other prominent members of the community were and it is most likely connected to Elizabeth's disappearance.
Was the friend of Edmunds in the escort business, male or female? Maybe there is a connection between Edmunds and the father or uncles.
I'm hoping that if Elizabeth found out about the lifestyle and someone wanted to kidnapped her to scare her into being quiet then she could still be alive.
If the story is not true, the National Enquirer deserves to be sued by the whole Smart extended family.
