The info described definitely is in the issue of NE which hit some newstands on Thursday and others today. I am in possession of a copy (securely hidden in my briefcase, so nobody at my office can see I have it -- bankers aren't supposed to read the NE).

This is just my intuition about this abduction, so take it with a grain of salt. Maybe Edmunds was the "talent scout" for his friend's escort service and someone else they BOTH know involved in the escort service actually did the abduction.

An aside: I think I remember a big porno raid in Texas (?) where many were arrested here in the States and some abroad. Then we heard no more about this raid. Then the Van Damned case broke. Maybe all these cases are related, by varying degrees, and the confusion lies in the members involved; like police and high ranking elected officials? Sort of like an "abduction" ring for a porno biz and the like.

I pray that Elizabeth is found alive, now. Prayers for the Smart family.

I'm going to poke a couple of holes in your theory.

First Shriner's is a children's hospital, the Grandfather wouldn't have been there.

And the event where Edmunds pepper sprayed the police officer that pulled him over happened in West Valley.

I'm having a hard time with this guy, trying to decide if he's involved or not. I'm starting to think that hes' not, just realized the entire world was looking for him, so he took off. I do hope he has some information though that will give the police some more clues.

She said nurses recognised him as Edmunds, and had them check his I.D...so good for t.v. coverage.

He is serious, but conscience. The F.B.I. would like to take him to a SECURE facility.

Oddly, Martinsburg is WV's far east panhandle, as far away from Utah as possible, and yes, it is near DC. A famous race track for horses is nearby at Charles Town or that area.

And yes, this is the general limestone (karst) landscape of the Shenandoah Valley, that prevails right on down through Luray, Va., the town most tied to Condit. Luray is about 80 miles south of Martinsburg, and Luray is about 90 miles west of DC. So there is a sort of triangle, for Martinsburg is some 75 miles WNW of DC.

I saw a private investigator on Greta Van Sustern's show last night, he was pretty arrogant. He said "Well, finally the police are doing what they should be doing and what I've said to do all along."

From another FReeper's notes a couple of days ago: His name is Culligan, apparently thinks the police haven't searched a park north of SLC that has a lake in it, hasn't either bothered to call the police or they haven't returned his calls, and says that he has been all over on different talk shows with this information, and no he wasn't going to call the police back because they are inept. I hope this a break in the case too. I wouldn't get my hopes up for the girl though. Some jailhouse lawyer, or a fame-seeking ACLU snot will get to him and tell him to invoke his Miranda rights and say nothing. Then if he IS responsible two things are likely - He will never be convicted, and she will never be found.

Well, FWIW, I heard that the SLPD couldn't play the tape on their machines so after sitting on it for at least a week they took it back to the hospital and played it there.

I think that's accurate, but I'd assume that there is round-the-clock police surveillance of the family home.
