So? This, somehow, makes it a City of Evil? Then I am curious: where is the Yen to Ithaca's Yang? Which city is the "City of Light," or "City of Goodness," if you prefer?

Besides, you're talking to a person whose family has a long tradition of graduating from Cornell and/or Penn.

Vive...

Nothing personal, but no one other than graduates of Cornell ever have much good to say about the U. Their elitism was insufferable and at times it became necessary to be very blunt with them, reminding them that we were not interested in or impressed by the fact that they were students or faculty at Cornell and that other institution.

Does good come out of those places?? To be sure, yes. There is a great tendency for the people to believe that only they know what is good for Ithaca and the area. For this they are scorned.

Actually, I had a similar thought, but in the other direction... what city do the Lefties call "The City of Evil"? Where are liberal magazines, liberal ideology, and liberal causes are shouted down, in favor of radical Right-wing protest parades, Right-wing legislation, Right-wing social experiments, etc?
