[history]
Six Minneapolis police officers were cleared by a Hennepin County grand jury Thursday of criminal wrongdoing in connection with the fatal shooting of a machete-wielding Somali man.
Details of the investigation indicated that Abu K. Jeilani spoke English, though friends and relatives had questioned whether he understood police commands to drop his weapons during a confrontation in south Minneapolis on March 10.

Update on the story. I wonder how the Minneapolis Police Department is doing with its Somali recruitment effort.

OK - so even if this person doesn't understand English, restate the proposition: You're in a foreign country, you are holding a machete and threatening somebody, while people dressed in police uniforms are yelling at you. What could you possibly think they are trying to say, regardless of whether or not you understand the language they speak?

That machete looks like a machete to me.
Any idea why it resembles a sword more than a machete to the attorney?

Where was this man's family and community if he was mentally ill ? How is it that he had a machete ?
Sorry for the death of a mentally ill person, but given the whooping and cheering by the Somali community in the U. S. after 9-11, my sympathies for them as a community are minimal.

The bigger question: Why are we importing the mentally ill? Good question. I am not sure if Title 8, Chapter 12 addresses this problem or not. I know it says that we don't have to take people with contagious diseases, drug addicts, etc. I will have to check that out when I have time.

The Samis use a drug that pumps them up so high that they are not scared of bullets.
Our SpecOps and Rangers found this out when they were in Mogadishu.
One less piece of sh_t walking the streets.

Six officers subsequently fired 13 shots, hitting him 12 times.Sounds like these officers need some remedial training.

Sounds like these officers need some remedial training.
Still better than the NYPD.
