I have looked into this at length. This is why the money is on stem cells from an aborted fetus instead of adult stem cells.

Adult stem cells have to be harvested from the patient and then injected back into the same patient. The use of fetal stem cells alows a company to mass produce cells and sell them at a huge profit.

Why would the industry want to go with the first aproach? It limits the marketability of the cure.

The fact that the adult stem cell route also gets around the rejection problen is is not enough to overcome the profit isue. They can always put the patient on anti-rejection drugs for the rest of their life. It's no skin off their back...
