• Genetically marked stem cells from adult mice were injected into the embryos of other mice. When born, the mice had many organs that were formed in part by the introduced stem cells.
• Genetically marked adult stem cells were injected into other mice, and successfully formed colonies in the liver, intestines and lungs.
• In a finding that replicated earlier published research, Verfaillie found that mouse and rat stem cells could be manipulated in the laboratory to mimic tissue from a variety of organs.

I must be in a particularly good mood as I saw this article as a piece of good news. I guess some folks just have to only see the down side.

This is good news. While the "market" may call for aborted fetuses, there are still many people out there, including surgeons, doctors and researchers, who recognize the value of life.

I saw the article as good news too.

For those that don't, read this...

"I never did understand how some parents could ever let their young child die when a life-saving medical procedure was readily available to save the child's life. Yet for each child whose parents allows him or her to die there are several thousand times more parents that would utilize the medical procedure to save their child's life.

"If a parent could save their child's life but the only medical procedure that would save the child's life was in part derived from embryonic stem cells, should the parents save their child's life? What if the child was yours?"

re #10.

I think the others missed what the article was about.

Adult stem cells were shown to have the same functionality as fetal cells.

Your reaction is right.
