One advantage of a Palestinian state, organized along participatory lines is that the state would be responsible for any terrorism that came from its territory. If the dictatorship of the PLA continues, statehood would solve nothing.

The other side of the coin however, is the first time Israel stikes back at the Palestinian State for terrorist attacks (and THEY WILL CONTINUE), then the UN gets into the act and claims Israel is committing an act of war on another State.
