Bill Cosby who's hit NBC television sitcom idealized family life throughout the 1980's has some harsh words about America's favorite openly disfunctional family, 'The Osbornes.'
'First of all you media need to stop with this Ozzy Osbourne.
This is a sad, sad family; it is a sad case.
The children are sad and the parents are sad,' Cosby tells entertainment show 'Access Hollywood on Thursday, June 20.
'This is not entertainment.'
While many think audiences respond to the MTV series based on the misadventures of Ozzy and crew because it shows that even the rich and famous suffer the same complicate family dynamics as the hoi polloi, Cosby says that enjoying it is akin to 'laughing at Tiny Tim.'
He didn't "glorify" Ozzy at all. Go back and watch the clip of the dinner again.
I heard that and I didn't take it as glorifying.. You need to understand Texan.. I took his comments as anything but glorifying, but in a nice sort of way and Ozzie didn't know what happened and I guess some others didn't either.
LOL! Thanks.. Glad to see someone else caught that.
Aimee, their now 19 year old daughter refused to do the show because she wanted to keep her privacy. She is also trying to become a 'rock star' and wanted to do so on her own without the publicity of The Osbournes.
She blew it. Kelly is now all the rage and sang at the MTV Movie Awards.
And one of the factors that has made The Osbournes a success is that it is real, whereas The Real World is manufactured.
Now that's more scary than the terrorists..
Man, he was funny on that concert..
She just had mental problems. She was faking the Lyme disease. No doubt about it.
"I wasnt addicted at first either." --Ozzy responding to Jack saying he only smokes pot once in a while and that he isnt addicted to drugs.
Anyone who has watched the show with an interest in its content can clearly see that Ozzy and Sharon love their children, do their best to try and raise them right, and care for them a great deal.
Outside of the excessive cursing, and abundance of money, the family is not that different than most families.
How you got that out of this article I have no idea.
Johnny said Tiny was a good friend throughout the years..
I met some of the people in 'The Real World' when they did it in Seattle. I was working at a bowling alley at the time, and they came and bowled there. Of course, the cameras and all were there, too. So, one of them, a woman (and a hottie, BTW) comes and talks to me while the camera crew was down with the rest of them on the lanes...
She asked if she could use our phone (our company phone, not the pay phone) -- quietly, and out of the way. She told me that MTV gets to record any call she makes, so she was hoping I would let her get in a call to someone off the record, as it were.
I hooked her up, of course. Not because I was attracted to her (I was), and not because she seemed like an OK person (I'm not sure if she was), but because I felt sorry for her. She looked so...desperate. She thanked me afterwards but no, alas, I didn't get a date out of it. Heh.
I've never watched the Real World and, in fact, never watch MTV. After seeing what they did to that woman, I had even less desire to do so.
