Bill Cosby who's hit NBC television sitcom idealized family life throughout the 1980's has some harsh words about America's favorite openly disfunctional family, 'The Osbornes.'
'First of all you media need to stop with this Ozzy Osbourne.
This is a sad, sad family; it is a sad case.
The children are sad and the parents are sad,' Cosby tells entertainment show 'Access Hollywood on Thursday, June 20.
'This is not entertainment.'
While many think audiences respond to the MTV series based on the misadventures of Ozzy and crew because it shows that even the rich and famous suffer the same complicate family dynamics as the hoi polloi, Cosby says that enjoying it is akin to 'laughing at Tiny Tim.'

I am really, really glad my dad is not like Ozzy Osbourne. And I'm doubly glad that my children are not like Osbourne's children.

Reminds me of revenge of the nerds.....you know the greeks are planning a panty raid or something big....it happens on every college campus, but now these boys can get some national coverage on MTV!
This is like a kettle waiting to explode.

" Another woman had mental problems from a tick bite"

When did he get on the show?

My take on it was that the Cos considers Ozzy to be crippled like Tiny Tim (from Charles' Dickens A Christmas Carol) and that to laugh at him is to laugh at his poor condition. Ozzy is crippled. And laughing at him is to laugh at another's misfortune.

Look, Oz is a burned out, brain damaged rocker with a screwed up family. Just becase 100,000 people throw money at him doesn't make him great. There ar lots of idiot celebrities in Hollywood where sheeple worship at their feet. Does this make them good or great? No, it only means that there are a lot of sheeple that will worship any act or goofball that comes along. It only means that these sheeple are complete idiots. All the money in the world wont fix Oz or his f-ed up family. Exactly.

Maybe Ozzy will leave MTV for the Viacom-owned sister station CBS and replace Dan Rather as the anchor for the CBS Evening News!

oh well i found this on urban legand
Around 1989, the rumor began circulating that entertainer Bill Cosby had bought up the rights to the The Little Rascals episodes for the express purpose of keeping them off of television because of their demeaning portrayal of blacks. This rumor has nothing to it, of course: King World Productions has owned and licensed the rights to The Little Rascals for over thirty years. The series has been syndicated to television many times and the video rights to some episodes were licensed to Cabin Fever Entertainment in 1997, but Bill Cosby has never owned any part of the rights to The Little Rascals.

"This is a sad, sad family. It is a sad case. The children are sad and the parents are sad. And this is not entertainment." This has been the basis for reality tv for 30 years now. Anyone remember The Loud family on PBS's An American Family?

One of the kids left home to become a gay man in the Chelsea Hotel, their marriage fell apart, the house was in danger of burning up in the seasonal California fires...

"I'm telling you that ["The Osbournes"] is a sad thing. It's like laughing at Tiny Tim," he said. "It is the kind of entertainment that you look at but wouldn't want in your home. And I don't like to look at things like that." For those too young to remember, Tiny Tim (Herbert Khaury) was the ghoulish-looking singer and ukulele player who was briefly a TV fixture in the late '60s and had his wedding on "The Tonight Show."
Looks like Codebreaker had the right take all along (or else this journalist missed it too). Maybe the Cos really is a racist if he wouldn't have Tiny Tim come into his home...

Ghost Dad. Absolutely one of the worst films ever made. You must have forgotten about Leonard Part 6!

And these were made at the height of his popularity...

In New Orleans The Real World kids were in a house that was decorated with art by a number of local folk artists who do quite well selling their works at the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival.
Some enterprising young Real Worlders could start selling the set decorations on eBay during the filming!

Cosby is a class act and sometimes is seen at UCLA's track. Stay cool bro!
Which was classier when he gave $25,000 to Tawana Brawley during her racially charged attempt to ruin some innocent prosecuters life, or the time he stated that AIDS was invented by the US government to get rid of black people?

He was asked in the early years of his "family" show why he didn't have any white people/characters on, and his reply was "let Mary Tyler Moore put them on her show". She was too busy putting "Reds" like ed Asner on...

What can you possibly say to a sanctimonious racist, that would re-write history (as in Buying up the Little Rascals to prevent their showing..) because he finds it unsuitable...
Cosby is a sanctimonious racist, but The Little Rascals story is an urban legend.
