It took forever to format this (MSNBC has all sorts of CSS and table stuff in their formatting, so I manually inserted paragraphs and boldface for headings). So forgive me for not indenting the paragraphs. I searched for this story several ways and didn't find it posted, but I found it interesting.

U.S. intelligence has no clear picture of how Padilla was recruited to Al Qaeda, or how many other American converts might have joined him. I think in reality they're unwilling to admit (for whatever reason) that they do know how he was recruited: in prison.

I get a cheap thrill counting replies to articles I post. I don't post many, but that's because so many others out there beat me to the punch! I have no idea how kattracks and JohnHuang2 are so prolific. I'd have to make it a full time job to post as much as they do! I'm not criticizing them, quite the opposite. I'm in awe!
