[history]
After a decade of raising money, Rutherford County Muslims plan to break ground on a mosque this fall. The Murfreesboro Planning Commission will consider plans today for the Masjed Al-Iman, which means ''the mosque of faith.'' The proposed site is on East Northfield Boulevard near Pitts Lane.

It is a marvel how so many Americans still do not understand certain religions and the inherent danger thereof. This man has the audacity to be quoted saying:
''As far as we're concerned, it's just another church,''
Try getting a permit to build a church of ANY other faith besides Islam in Saudi Arabia or similar Muslim nation. When are people going to wake up?

People need to realize it isn't really a religion in the normal sense. It is largely a subversive and agressive political cult. We know how to handle those. However, when religion is claimed, we seem to lose our bearings.
I suppose that deeply and irrationally held political beliefs have a lot in common with some cultish beliefs that I would classify as religious. Let's not be stupid and lose sight of what is really going on.

Let me tell them how I really feel...I don't want no more (expletive) mosques in Tennessee

Well, You can Muslims the right to build Mosques, but what happens when someone says that Chistians or Jews or Hindus are dangerous. Then they too will be denied to right to build Churchs and Synaguoges(sp?) and Temples.
Not to say I disagree with your assessment of Islam, just that your argument can be used against just about anyone.

The only way they can build a mosque in central TN is if we're allowed to paint one side with a Mail Pouch Tobacco ad, and a Jack Daniel's ad on the other...Oh, and serve Bob Evans' Sausage out front...

IF PLANNING COMMISSION APPROVES
You would hope that the good ole boys down in TN would at least not cave in to PC correctness & would move swiftly to DENY DENY DENY. But unfortunately, it reads as if they go ahead & let them build.

Yeah. Nobody better be asking to build a Catholic church. We now know the "inherent danger" that religion poses to adolescent males.

''As far as we're concerned, it's just another church,''Nice answer. The gutless, orthodox Politically Correct answer. Hey brainiac, master of equivalence, it's not a church, it's a mosque. Mosques are where members of the death cult meet and plan the takeover of the United States.
Political Correctness = Suicide

"Fathy said local Muslims are excited to have a permanent place to pray and celebrate religious holidays...." AND a place to plot murder against Americans.

I would be curious as to thenumber of muslims involved. Tennessee has the lowest percentage of Catholic population of any state, but we still see a lot of Catholic churches.

It is largely a subversive and agressive political cult. Seems we had a religion that was largely a subversive and aggressive political cult in the last administration. Janet Reno "knew" how to handle them.
To: MeneMeneTekelUpharsin
I'd just like to know, if they have any funding from Saudi Arabia for their building, for their clerics or for their publications.

I lived in Murfreesboro until about a year ago. Middle easterners (who I assume are Muslim) own several tobacco stores, convenience stores, and gas stations there, as well as at least one used car lot, so there does seem to be a fair number of them.
I have no problem with the muslims building a mosque. I think the freedom-of-religion thing is fairly important. And besides, it's not like muslims need a mosque to gather together to plot evil. They could just as easily do so at a home or business.

Islam is a cult that should be outlawed. It is a danger to all humanity, and this world is plenty of proof.

I moved from Murfreesboro in '91 and the Muslim population was large for a city of that size even then. I do not know how many were like me, went to college there and then stayed in town.

It's not a religion. The COnstitution is not a suicide pact. Once a pece of ground has a mosque, it's there forever and the ground is consecrated as an Islamic land.
Islam is a totalitarian ideology intent of world domination with the goal of worldwide islamic state that will deny an individual any control or choice over his life. It merely masquerades as a religion until it reaches critical mass, and then demands adherence to islamic law.
Mosques are dens of sedition where the actual overthrow of the prevailing order, way of life and the US government is actively preached.
It should not be allowed to hide behind the right of freedom of religion.
