Your ticket price purchases you the use of a seat. If you require more than one seat you should have to purchase the use of two seats. It's pretty simple really.

Ok, I give up. Who is the moron that convinced you that you were purchasing a seat?

When I fly, I am making a contract between myself and the airline to deliver me to a specified destination. They accept that contract and money is exchanged.

There is nothing special about the major airlines. If I hire someone at my local airport to fly me to a destination in a small aircraft, I expect to safely arrive at that location.

Seats? I did not hire this pilot to give me a seat, I hired him to fly me to the location I requested.

What, did every Freeper on this thread suddenly go brain dead?

What if the airlines simply started charging "by the pound"?

Oh, then I guess you wouldn't mind if the airlines removed the seats and just hung straps from the ceilings.

So it's ok, if they ask you to stand, while they deliver you to your destination?
