Last year, (in my district) two teachers were prosecuted for sexual crimes with students. The first a women concerning one of her 15 year old students. The second a man (also involved with his Baptist church) having to do with a girl that attended his school and also a member of his church.

When it all became public knowledge, the public realized the cover-up, and heads began to roll.

Problem is they blamed the wrong people once again. Principals were replaced and reassigned. Now you have an administration that is terrified to take a stand on anything; just waiting to retire; no waves in their lake.

So in the end, the teachers had their hands slapped and the administration took a big hit. More harm than good.

This is not good. It was the status quo here in NYC with our teachers. In 1999 Rudy lost it when a few cases came to light about the school system moving these teachers around. The city council delt with the problem too bad it took 60 years to put an end to this type of crap.

"More harm than good."

Not really. We expect the administrators to protect the kids, not just fire the teacher and forget it all.
