Where the hell is the "zero tolerance" policy for admitting into this country the very agents who will attack us? I hear plenty about zero tolerance for little children drawing pictures of guns in the government schools. What about the REAL GAME? This is pure insanity.

I have no doubt that our enemies regularly laugh at the obtuse stupidity that provides them such easy access. If things get a little dicey, all they have to do is scream about profiling and discrimination. We can't get the authorities interested in logistical terror planning in the light of day, but rest assured those cries will be taken seriously and remedied in a heartbeat. By golly, we'll prove what nice people we are.

The only part of our government I have any faith in anymore is the military, but even it is nowhere near what it should be after years of Clinton essentially dismantling it.

Reality is there's nothing the average citizen can do to help protect us from another attack. We can make plans to protect ourselves and our immediate vicinity should something go wrong, but as far as averting the next large-scale attack there is zero we can do because no one's listening. The bureaucracy that is our government has become a self-feeding machine whose prime mission to to sustain itself.

I live here in the LA area. A couple of notes.... They said the plan was to drop them off north of Catalina.... that means they probably will come in zodiacs.... Note that the waters between Catalina and the mainland are Great White infested. Usually some good swells along that 26 nautical miles will be a rough trip with thumper laying in the water. I do not imagine Saudis or pakis having much open water boating expierience. Another thing . Most of the beaches are crowded with kids now that school is out and it is great weather. And NO ONE just beaches a boat on the beach here. Kayaks maybe but if they do it with people around they will stick out like a sore thumb. Just my 2 cents.

Sounds like a joke to me. If your story is true, then these security measures are totally asinine.

I just got an email from a friend of mine, saying his wife safely arrived in Texas from Phoenix yesterday with their 2 year old daughter. But not before she, her daughter's and and her luggage was searched....twice...and the "men of middle eastern" color were breezing through the security checkpoints without hesitation.

Unless you are refering to another incident, those were 48 Iraqi nationals arrested on 09/11 last year in T.J. The next day 48 more were taken into custody. Last I heard they were still in custody, even though they were described as Iraqi Christians. Lots of those running around openly.

You sound just like the fools that said the same things about the waves of Chinese, Irish, Italian and Jewish immigrants that hit our shores decades ago. Mexicans come here to clean our houses, wash our cars, groom our lawns, pick our fruits and vegetables, paint our houses, etc. 99.9% of them are hard working, decent and honest people just trying to take of their families. They are a sign that the American dream lives on. But then again, perhaps your family came over on the Mayflower or you are an American Indian. In which case, I apologize for speaking out of turn.
