dad warmed to GW early (he always loved Cheney) and since Sept. 11th could be classified as a Bush babe.

This is great. What you've said is that your dad isn't (or wasn't) one of those brain-dead dems. What really intrigues me is how did he turn out so many conservatives (from age 3)? Did he teach you to think for yourselves or were you just born that way?

Washington State Freeper just sent another $200.00 with the following words

"Today we remember our Fathers.

But, for me, when we remember our Fathers we should not forget our Mothers.

I was very fortunate to have been raised by two loving individuals.

This donation is in the name of: Reita Jean Ramage Flath"

Your tributes are very moving .

All of the Freepers thank you

Both mom and dad's parents imigrated from Poland in their late teens/early 20's. All met here. And I would say aside from being big democrats the family was always very conservative. All our family members were hard workers and looked out for themselves. They settled in Detroit and Buffalo and, I think at the time the Dems. probably were much more conservative and the union served a purpose at the time. They also did a lot to reach out to immigrants.

An interesting twist during communist poland. We still have many family members there and I had the opportunity to visit after the collapse. (mom visited several times during communism and it was pretty scarry) A major complaint was that families lost their property to the govenment once the prime owner died. It was said the government took the property. Not so.... the family had to sell it because they couldn't afford the death tax. Had that little arguement with mom and dad recently. They did NOT want to see the correlation that our gov't could be as bad as those big bad communists!!!
