I think that he had done time for a bad check charge or something like that. He had a parole (probation?) officer.

Isn't that the truth.

Oh, says Utah Girl (me.) I get it now. It was confusing me.
To: Utah Girl
You're going to have to get a nom-de-plume -- at least while this story is hot.
To: Utah Girl
I was talking about the case, silly!

The lightbulb finally went off in my head. I know you're not that type of person. Sorry about that, I'm really tired, and it is the end of a very long week. :)

Why is he trying to make himself look like/appear to be Edmunds? Or was it just a weird case of mistaken identity?
WEIRD case of mistaken identity?
Well, I guess with all the John Doe #2/Padilla hullabaloo, people like to kid themselves that people can't be confused for other people. This incident actually is a pretty good argument against the John Doe #2/Padilla thing being meaningful or important at all.

Your theory is exactly what my sis and I discussed this afternoon. The famiy keeps saying "let her go," like they know someone is holding her. The dad said "check your basements" for the same reason. Something is not being revealed, and I agree that it must be a ransom note. I pray the girl is alive and is returned that way.

I disagree completely, for the reasons in my previous post. Then again, I'm not a LEO, and have no training in such matters. I'm just going on what makes sense to me. I'm sure the SLC Police and the FBI do have all the identification information that each witness can supply. If it doesn't happen to include a sketch, it's because they didn't see the face.

Context? I just don't get the whole statement.... Neither do I. I'm glad you asked, lol. I thought I was the only one who didn't understand that.
To: Utah Girl
I just reread it and get it now. Never mind, lol!

The milkman spotted the car a day or so before the kidnapping. Because the car drove slowly down the road, then up behind him, then passed. As the car passed the milkman tried to make eye contact, but the driver didn't turn his direction. The driver passed then shortly came back down the road again. And slowly. This is what made the milkman suspicious. So, he wrote the plate number down. He thought maybe the guy was going to try and steal some of his products.
If the driver IS a transient, he may not have any money, and might thought he could get some milk and cottage cheese ot something to eat. Maybe he's involved, maybe not, but he still have been looking for food and drink. The milkman hasn't seen him hanging around since the abduction.

I think I read that Edmunds was convicted on charges of forgery.

If it doesn't happen to include a sketch, it's because they didn't see the face. Or didn't need one because they already had a pic or a name and knew who they were dealing with already.

Actually, from a technical end, it's not so much the volts as it is the amps. You can work up 20,000 volts or more by putting on some wool socks and scuffing your feet along a carpet. It just doesn't have much amperage. So that being said, they might want to help this guy get a little more "amped up"....if 'ya know what I mean. :-)
