Missing Utah girl case brings flood of tips (Elizabeth Smart case)

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah (CNN) --Salt Lake City police have been flooded with tips and possible leads about a man wanted for questioning in the disappearance of 14-year-old Elizabeth Smart, a police spokesman said Thursday.

The man was identified Wednesday as Bret Michael Edmunds, 26. Police are not calling him a suspect, but they said he was seen in Elizabeth's upscale Federal Heights neighborhood days before the June 5 kidnapping.

I sure don't know, and the police don't either. I'm just hoping this has a resolution soon for Elizabeth and for her family. I'm getting more pessimistic that it will be a happy one. The worst scenario would be that she is never found and the perp is never found. How horrible, but I am jumping to conclusions here.

U.G., with every passing hour and no sign of Elizabeth I have to sadly believe that she might never been seen alive again. That sickens me to no end! I just listen to the FBI profilers and get ill. How can a child just disappear into thin air, HOW?
