Just FYI, Whitley Strieber is a nutcase. He's the last guy I'd want discussing politics. The reason, he's been in contact with Aliens. I seriously doubt his credibility. I used to chat with a guy who knew Whitley, and apparently Whitley has been making the whole alien abduction thing up for a very long time. His take on politics is more of the same left wing conspiracy crapola that he's been spewing for years. I can actually see why such a post would be deleted, considering the source. Of course the addage about the stopped clock, might apply.

Strieber is not exactly what I would consider a reliable source.

There should be special concentration on the activities of Solomon Smith Barney, which is active in the CME's futures markets, and which was also Mr. Elgindy's stock broker.

I worked in the Tokyo office for them at that time. They lost a building. The company took a brutal profits beating in the aftermath. I do not believe they could possibly have foreknowledge of the bombing and not do something to keep the employees away and the computers (and stored financial data) safe. It's ludicrous.

A simple Google search can give you the opus of Whitley Strieber's works. (New-age, alien abuductee, Dreamland...)

I was more interested debating and countering the individual points of fact that he was making. So far, altair has taken apart one of his arguements.

One of the 25 rules of disinformation is to:

5) Sidetrack opponents with name calling and ridicule. This is also known as the primary attack the messenger ploy, though other methods qualify as variants of that approach. Associate opponents with unpopular titles such as "kooks", "right-wing", "liberal", "left-wing", "terrorists", "conspiracy buffs", "radicals", "militia", "racists", "religious fanatics", "sexual deviates", and so forth. This makes others shrink from support out of fear of gaining the same label, and you avoid dealing with issues.
In this case, Whitley Strieber admits to being an alien abductee -- so we can certainly apply rule 5 to him.

Let's take apart the ideas, not the man. I'm glad this thread has been up over 12 hours and hasn't been deleted yet.
