This is a 1991 booking mug taken by the Broward County Sheriff's Office of Jose Padilla after his arrest on weapons charges in Sunrise, Fla. Padilla, who is also known as Abdullah Al Mujahir, was arrested May 8, 2002, in Chicago and accused of conspiring with al-Qaida terrorists to build and detonate a radioactive "dirty" bomb in this country, possibly in Washington, D.C. I hope this dufus dosen't meet up with some of his old gang banging buddies. He won't have to worry about what the U.S. does to him if he does.

Authorities said the alleged scheme, involving a former gang member from Chicago who was raised Catholic .....Notice how the AP had to just slip that one in there? They could have left that out.

One detail this article failed to mention: this guy converted to Islam while
in prison.
Under the guise of multiculturalism, our prisons have become state-funded madrassas and Islamic recruitment centers.

Geeeezzz. He had a kazillian arrests, and he's still here?
Good thing he didn't commit a hate crime against a gay man or he'd have been imprisoned for life!

Thanks for posting this. A job WELL DONE by our intelligence community. Now that the RULES have been relaxed,.. we are safer. They are catching people wishing us harm. Job well done!!!

It looks like the Bush team's heightened alert and increased intelligence gathering has paid off bigtime.
It also looks like the voices of the Lunatic Left have not stopped them from profiling.
To hell with the "Liberals"! Prifile aggressively! Stop these Islamic terrorists, most of whom are from Islamic, Middle Eastern countries, before they can accomplish their blood-thirsty, murderous, evil, violent designs.

And anyone who doesn't like it can go to hell.

In Florida, he was convicted in 1991 in Sunrise on charges of aggravated assault and discharging a firearm, court records show. Padilla, who identified himself as Catholic when he was booked on those charges, served one year of supervised release, until Aug. 4, 1993. A Justice official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Padilla converted to Islam after his 1993 release. This is bogus. They don't ask for your religious preferences when they book you into Broward County jail. Overkill to build Ashcroft's PR case/ I just saw a lawyer on MSNBC who said they had to release him for lack of evidence, or pull this lewgal maneuver. That's why the press conference today, because otherwise they had to release for lack of evidence. This guy sounds like a convenient dupe-not a nuke terrorist.

"
A government source, speaking on condition of anonymity, said Padilla and at least two others who may have been involved in the alleged plot were detained in Pakistan on immigration violations before May 8. But Padilla was allowed to board his international flight and tricked into believing he had escaped - with U.S. agents sitting on the plane quietly watching his every move."
Okay, I am cool with how they played this flunky but...Uhhh...
What about the others?
What has happened to them?

More proof in the "Three Strike Ruling". He could have been put in jail for life.

There was a warning last month Al-Q would true to recruit U.S.citizens, just imagine how many anti-government types are more than willing. they were recruiting for the KK right out of my high school on the NW side in the mid 60's so...

A search of the web spit out this reference
http://www.personal.psu.edu/users/j/l/jlp163/
for a Jose Lenin Padilla at Penn State.
There is probably no connection but it's pathetic, nevertheless.

Jose Padilla (let's dispense with the Arab alias) has facial features that I would identify as lower coastal Mexican, one of the country's indigenous types--remember Manuel Moreno, aka Cantinflas? In any case, I doubt Padilla's parents were born in the U.S. or even entered and remained legally. This brings me to the question: is being born here sufficient for citizenship? I say no. I believe other nations are rescinding this privilege. I'm a southwesterner with a visible if distant Mexican heritage whose ancestors acquired citizenship with the Gadsden Purchase so I don't consider myself any kind of a newcomer. I don't want the dregs of the globe draining my country of its prosperity and security! The pubbies are major culprits in this foreign invasion.

...went only as far as the planning stages. That's all I need. Beat all the info possible out of him, then give him the firing squad.

Jose Padilla, 31, also known as Abdullah al Muhajir...Here we have it--an American convert to islam, and he's already waging terrorist jihad against his own country!!! And he doesn't look Middle Eastern, so would fly underneath the "racial profiling" radar.
After Sept. 11th, when a large proportion of the country felt the need to learn about islam, tens of thousands of Americans had the wrong reaction to what they learned---they CONVERTED to islam!!!! (This is all thanks to the local mosques who ran those "understanding islam" sessions.) Without a good spiritual grounding, that's likely to happen. How many of those new converts are also candidates for Al Qaeda membership? Who knows. That's besides the great number of people who convert to islam in prison, like both the former Jose Padilla and shoe-bomber Richard Reid (whatever his islamic name is).
We need a lot more "understanding Christianity" sessions. For the masses of people who think that they know Christianity because its so "familiar" (but know next to nothing), perhaps they need to get these sessions in a less familiar setting--an Orthodox Christian church. That may prevent at least a few people from being seduced by the agents of da'wa (islamic "evangelism"), and lead them to Christ instead!!

I think that the welfare state, "Great Society", and affirmative racism programs created the social dysfunction that creates these savages that turn to violent Islamicism as their "salvation."
