Is Mark Sanford Fred's other son? I wonder if Lamont will get behind his brother?

Thanks for the post. I don't entirely trust the polling data. IMO, Sanford is stronger in the upstate than indicated in the poll. At the debate at Bob Jones, Peeler got the least applause.

Mark Sanford was my congressman for 6 years. He kept his term limit promise. He voted aginast pork projects for our district and other districts. He is a man of great integrity. I will vote for him on Tuesday 6/11, but really wish he would run against Hollings when his jig, er, term is up.

The South Carolina Heritage Coalition has been running ads hot and heavy on radio here in Columbia, savaging Sanford's voting record--"Mark Sanford voted with Bill Clinton more than any other South Carolina Republican." Apparently he wasn't for keeping the Confederate Naval Jack up on the dome.
All I know is that I'll be glad when the primaries are over, the ads are overwhelming and obnoxious. Especially the Stan Spears for Adjutant General ad. Joe Wilson's a great guy, but he does the worst radio ad read in history. :)

Sanford was also my COngressman. He kept his term limits pledge as indicated. Either Peeler or Sanford will have a good shot at defeating Hodges. Hodges has lower poll numbersthan David Beasley did 4 years ago.

I still can't figure out why Carroll Campbell didn't dispatch of Hollings in 1998. From what I recall, he was ahead of him in polls.
To: Big Steve
This poll was based on 404 SC voters? This is representative of ALL of South Carolina? geez.

Sanford has been endorsed by Lindsay Graham and John McCain. John McCain is currently in bed with the anti-gun crowd...makes you wonder why he would endorse Sanders.

A Post and Courier poll of 404 likely Republican primary voter Not much of a poll.

Most of those ads regarding Sanford votng for Bill Clinton's 93 tax increase are TOTALLY INCORRECT! Sanford got elected in 1994, so how could he vote for Clinton's tax increase? If you look at his voting record, it was one of the most conservate in congress.
He was my congressman in Charleston, but now I live in the upstate. He doesn't have the name recognition up here, but hopefully if he gets in the runoff that will change.

Campell did't run against Hollings in 1998. It was Bob Ingles, a congressman from upstate SC. BTW, Carroll Campbell has Alzheimer's Disease. His two sons had a press conference last week in Greenville endorsing Sanford.

I'm voting for Condon and I know plenty of people who plan to vote that way.
To: Babsig
I didn't say that Campbell did run; I said he was considering it, and polls showed he would have been a very strong challenger.
Was the Alzheimer's the reason he decided against a run in 1998?

I, also, am voting for Condon. He is pro-Southern and very conservative. Overall, he has been very consistent. Is he perfect? No. But he has a good record. He stood against video poker and the lottery in SC. He stood up to the naacp. He knows what is not good for this state.
I like his bold statements to end all property tax in SC. It's ludicruous for us to have to rent our property from the government.
Mr. Condon as AG, knows who the enemies of our state are. This knowledge will help Mr. Condon as Governor.

Good luck all. Let's get out there and vote.
Unless for some reason a voter couldn't legally vote at the time of a primary, I don't want to hear any complaints about a persons voter registration being messed up. Voting in a primary is one of the best ways to find out before a general election if your registration is OK and you're voting at the correct precinct.

Wish I had seen this sooner but anyway here is my two cents worth.I dont believe Charlie Condon can win because law enforcement will go hard against him.He has tried awfully hard to put some police officers in jail is the rumor I hear.Plus in a case I was involved in a representative in his office would not give me as an individual on a governing body an opinion on a issue that I requested. The issue was over the legality of something that was going on and the body was benefiting personally from it.Myself and one other elected member disagreed. This is a bigger problem than most people realize but apparently an elected body can pass anything it wishes regardless of the law and the A/Gs office wont stand against it unless the whole body request. The reason I said this is I was told to get the whole body to request it while they were willing to pass it and they would not agree to ask for opinion. So this indicates to me how our elected officials get away with so much, citizens do not appear to have anyone representing them against their own government.I guess as a citizen you must hire personal council to take on city hall even if what they are doing is questionable.I think Peeler and Sanford would make the best Govenors but dont really know enough about Peeler.I think a lot of Mark Sanford because of his promise to not stay in Washington,DC and keeping it.Plus I really think he wants to get rid of some of our over bloated government and I believe he is a man of his word.I know a lot of rumors have been circulating about Sanfords voting record while in Washington and I also know most of it is lies and for some in here need I remind you as much as I despised Clinton he did do some things I agreed with and lets not hold a Conservative responsible with voting with Clinton when we agreed with the issue. The only issue I have with Mark Sanford is over a couple of donations he got while in Conress from real a strong Democrat now who was fighting David Beasley around the time but I think I may understand what was going on so this will not sway me one way or the other at present. As far as Peeler I have no real knowledge good or bad about him.All I have gleaned about him comes from the news and friends in the upstate and it sounds good.I think Republicans would have a winner with Sanford or Peeler from my personal standpoint.
