No bomb shelter for me. As long as we're on this subject, I remember someone posting a link to a site that allows you to enter the town you live in and then shows you a map of the damage that nukes of various sizes would do to it. I saw The Sum of All Fears last weekend, and my wife had questions as to what would happen to our town if that ever happened. Can anyone here point me in the right direction? Thanks.

A bomb shelter for two - just for me and my Mulder. ;) Seriously though, if it comes to this I hope we go with the first strike. The thought of living in a post-nuclear nightmare with the numbers of uninformed, unenlightened and unprepared survivors is a bit much to bear. I'm afraid life wouldn't be as neat and tidy as described in "Alas, Babylon".

No, but I have been thinking about it. Even if Little Rock doesn't get nuked, we have a lot of tornados thru here. We live on a hill so we could probably do it cheap under the house. Also been thinking about laying in emergency supplies like food, water, Yukon Jack, St. Brendans, first aid stuff, dog food, cat food, Rambo survival knife, wind-up record player for old Hank Williams albums, kitty litter, Euell Gibbons book about eating pine trees, that sort of stuff. parsy the semi-prepared.

Nope I live way too close to the target for it to do a bit of good. Too much radiation in these here hills to worry bout it after the fact.

Thanks for the link. Unfortunatly, a 1KT blast would virtually wipe out my town - but than again, there's no reason for terrorists to hit it.

For a look at life in a comfy bomb shelter, this is a good movie to watch.

I recently looked at a target map of the DFW area. I combined this information with what I found at a HOW TO SURVIVE A NUCLEAR WAR site and figured that I don't have a snowball's chance!

I will be blissfully whisked away by the incinerating heatwave, so no tears for me.

Why do that? Could anyone here hold their breath for 6 months or possibly store That much air?
