I voted yes. The green party needs to become strong enough to take about half of the dem's votes away.

WE'VE GOT TO VOTE YES FOR THIS POLL!!!!!!

Any SANE human being KNOWS they're not a real party (Kind of like the Libertarians) but we need to keep them around so they can keep rattling the cages of the DemocRATs!!!

We're sure pulling for them in Minnesota.....they could peel off 5% of Wellstone's vote and lock a Senate seat for Norm Coleman.

You have a point... as lame as it is.

I would rather see a black party with the greens and lesbians in ka-hoots.

I would donate $10,000 to this party. Bush wins in 2004!

The answer is yes depending on what you mean by viable. If they will ever get elected to national office - I doubt it. If you mean that they are strong enough to influence national policy - you bet they're viable. Most of the violations of our property rights by the so called "environmental protection" agency have been driven by the enviroNazis in the green party. They don't have to be elected to office to achieve their goals.

I say vote "no" because (a) it makes the Greens nervous and (b) it makes the Dems complacent.

As the Democrats and Republicans continue their movement towards one party I would have to answer "yes" to the question.

The Socialist Party was never really viable, but yet both the Democrats and the Republican parties have raced to become the biggest socialist party. So in that sense, it doesn't really matter.

It makes sense for us to support 3rd parties on the Dems left. Vote yes on the poll.

As noted above, I think, given the unique politics of ithaca, "the city of evil," a "no" will do more to energize the greens and de-energise the dems
