I thought DW came up to BVD and said that Rich confronted DW and Rich said "We know what you are up too".

Barbara Easton probably never thought her social life would be so publicly aired, but several times during Brenda and Damon van Dam's testimony in the David Westerfield preliminary hearing, her activities the night Danielle van Dam vanished were revealed by her friends.
Brenda van Dam testified she smoked pot with her and Damon van Dam said she crawled into bed with him.
"Barbara layed next to me. I rolled over, put my arm around her, kissed her, rubbed her back some," said Damon van Dam.
Easton, 46, is a friend of Brenda and Damon van Dam's, who met Drenda at Dad's Steakhouse and Cafe in Poway about a year ago, according to Brenda.
Easton is a licensed salesperson in the mortgage brokerage field, who was with Brenda van Dam the night Danielle van Dam was last seen alive.
According to Brenda van Dam's testimony, Easton and Denise Kemel, another friend of Brenda's, consumed alcohol and smoked pot inside the Van Dam's garage before heading to the local bar for a girls night out.
Under cross examination, Brenda van Dam was asked about sexually suggestive dancing moves allegedly performed on her by Easton on the dance floor at Dad's.
"She did not touch me. I don't know how to explain it. She didn't physically touch me. She was maybe dancing with her hands like this, but she didn't touch me," says Brenda van Dam. SURE YOU DON'T WANT TO CHANGE YOUR COMMENT BRENDA???
Easton told LOCAL 8 news by phone that the Van Dam's are the victims here and that she fully stands behind them. She would not give any specifics of the case because she says she is under a court imposed gag order.
Although Easton never took the stand in the Westerfield case, her interview with a San Diego Police Detective is part of the court documents introduced at the preliminary hearing.
As far as Westerfield's case is concerned, Easton says that it's too bad he didn't have to take the stand.

1. Sending a ten-year-old to nearby neighbors is not irresponsible.
2. Sincere panic rarely gives way to calculation.
3. This family leaves their children alone in public stores; even in dressing rooms.
Emergencies generally call for all the help one can find.
Try again. If you are frustrated and don't like the fact that the van Dams are looking bad here, take it out on someone else. I choose to look at EVERYONE with eyes wide open. Those seeking all of the truth should do the same.
A man's life is at stake. If found guilty, it better be after all other doubt and possibility has been eliminated.
This commentator (a lawyer, I believe) was very animated about it. Anybody guess what's up with that?
I may be wrong, but I don't think a further search took place until they had already reported her missing.
I have been thinking about a recent episode of cops that I saw on TV where they had received a call on a possible missing child. The call was unclear though beacause it came from a neighborhood person who had been outside when a disraught father had come by her looking for his 5 year old boy. As the officer pulled up he saw the person who placed the call - who then told him that it seemed serious - and that the father was going up and down the streets in the neighborhood looking for his son and calling out his name. The person pointed the officer in the direction in which she saw the father go. The officer caught up with the father just as he was receiving a more detailed account of the situation - by this time the father had called in on a cell phone. Just then someone from down the street came up and said they had found a little boy - he was in thier yard - a happy ending. My point is - that this scenario actually seemed normal to me. I could see myself as that father - maybe a bit reluctant to call till I was more sure I couldn't find the child. Especially a 7 year old who had friends in the neighborhood. I think I would have called those places just to be sure - before I called police. The 911 dipatcher even asked Brenda if she had called any of Daniell'e friends and she said she hadn't.
The police must have ass-umed that this "abduction" was not a kidnapping
That was a fine turn of phrase and in my opinion depicts the flies on the wall van Dam couple.

Wonder if Danielle ever went in there, bleeding from a scratch, from the dog, at the park?
I just found it strange that BVD started going into the door or gate being open (I'm not clear on which right now), to the operator. It was as if, she was setting the stage for the Child's disappearance (before DW)...

It also occurs to me that both parents seem to be submissives. Brenda is overplaying that part IMO. I suspect that woman is hard as nails. It is clear that of the two she wore the pants. She went upstairs and found Damien with the other woman frisking it up. She told him to come downstairs and be social. He complied.
I'm not buying Brenda's boo hoo tendencies on the stand.
