There have been several attacks in the last week or so, and Israel did not respond. Their lack of respose was a show of good faith, to allow Arafat room to maneuver, to prove that Israel would give him a chance to cooperate.

Not that I (or they, in all likelihood) thought he would lift a finger to prevent terrorism, but the west put pressure on Israel to let Arafat prove (again!) that he would reform himself and his government.

Now, finally, the cat may be out of the bag, the tiger is out of the cage, the box has been opened, the rubicon has been crossed. Run these depraved savage murderous beasts off the land for good.

"Run these depraved savage murderous beasts off the land for good."

A couple of months ago I was ridiculed by the support-Bush-at-all-costs contingent when I asked (in response to the Powell mission) how many Israeli lives was the Bush Policy (peace through negotiation) willing to sacrifice to implement its policy (appeasement of terror).

We are, apparently, learning that the number of Israeli lives (or to put it differently, the lives of the citizens of our ally in the war on terror) is a pretty large one. I now wonder if there even is a limit to the number of Israeli lives that we are willing to sacrifice to appease Islam. Because, just like two months ago, the Administrations' policy of appeasement is simply stated as trading Israeli lives for Arab (and leftist European) favor (oil, calm, Congressional elections, the pie-in-the-sky future Iraqi invasion - pick your reason).

I'd still like to know, how many lives these things are worth. And when can we say it is enough and wage war?
