We had the better team, there was no doubt to any objective viewer that this was the case.
But being in a "small market" I knew we were doomed from the start. We will never be able to give up the huge TV ratings that an LA series would generate.
More than anything else, I feel like we were robbed of a real chance to show what we have.
I guess the hardest part was trying to explain to my kids the difference in enforcing the rules. That there are fouls called for the Kings and a different set of standards for the Lakers.
A bad position for a Father to be in I think...

Did you explain to your kid how both Kobe and Shaq picked up two quick fouls in Game 5, and how Shaq fouled out that game even thought the refs were so biased against the Kings? Did you show your kid the replay at the end of that game where Bobby Jackson bumped Kobe so hard he dislodged the ball on the last shot?
Did you show him the replay of all the arm taps on the Lakers jump shots? How about the one where Vlade plays defense with a fist full of Shaq's jersey? How about Bibby's arm around Kobe's back on the inbounds play. Did you show him those too?
Definition of a sore loser: A guy who complains about the result of a basketball game after his team loses an overtime game in which they miss most of their free throws.
