I think it's obvious the liberal media and the Arab world are aligned to discredit the President in order to get a Democrat pacifist in office. Lord, if Gore or Clinton were President right now, we'd STILL be listening to hearings on how we need to understand terrorists.

Al Quaida/the Taliban are to blame. All the American People are responsible. The planes that flew into the WTC didn't differentiate between the responsible and irresponsible citizens. In the courts there is no such thing as collective responsibility; in the life of a nation there is. WE all hang together or we hang separately.
There is no wayBin Laden should have gotten as far as he did. Ollie North warned about him in 96. He warned us in 93 with the 1st WTC attack, and several times sinse. We chose not to listen. Don't like Clinton? We voted him in. He got in by fraud. We allowed it. If concern for terror had been on our radar screen it would have showed up on the politicians' polls and we would have fought it then.
Do I have people I'd like to blame.sure. But I think we owe the 9-11 victims and our children to look in the mirror, not point fingers.

Uh, I saw that Woods interview twice. He didn't alert the FBI prior to 9/11! Once he recognized the faces on TV, he called the authorities. Get your conspiracy stories straight, will ya. That was just too easy...

"Nother li'l tidbit...
"Mr. Mubarak cited the warning as evidence that Egypt has become an increasingly valuable intelligence partner to the United States in the war against terrorism, especially since Sept. 11. It seemed possible he was seeking to burnish Egypt's credentials, which have been questioned in Congress, in advance of his visit to Washington this week."
Hmmmmm...
To: Howlin
Do you understand written English? It says right up there that Mubarak said HE didn't know how bad it was. I understand written English, and I think you need to read the NY Times article. If anything, this is a story that merits close scrutiny, precisely because the Egyptian head of state is claiming awareness that bin Laden was in the advanced stages of a significant operation, and that Egypt had a secret agent in close contact with the bin Laden organization. He also claims "We told them [U.S.] everything." Either Mubarak is being truthful, or he's not. Let's assume, to diminish unproductive flaming, that he is not being truthful. Either way, we have a serious problem, don't we? It's not about how bad it was. It's about that it was going to be bad enough to matter, and what if it had been worse.

Un-huh. Clear as mud. Somethings happening somewhere, to somebody... LOL.How CAN you laugh at a time like this????? Duck & Cover!!!! Drop & Roll!!! Head for the Hills!!!!

Remember, there's no conspiracy that we can't figure out using the number 19.
To: DrLiberty
Gee, I guess the govt would never suspect planes being used as missiles. No, that would never cross the minds of the thousands and thousands of people involved in our intelligence agencies.
To: DrLiberty
Using a secret agent they had recruited who was in close contact with the bin Laden organization, Mr. Mubarak said, his intelligence chiefs tried unsuccessfully to halt the operation. Mr. Mubarak said his intelligence officials had no indication what the target would be and had no idea of the magnitude of the coming attack.
I'm an Arabic translator by night. Here is what Mubarak said in English. We didn't know sh8t and even if we did we wouldn't have lifted a hand to stop it.
