Move out of the way, Ozzy Osbourne. There's another foul-mouthed celebrity who is vying for the bleeding-heart pop critics' Father of the Year award.
Eminem, the Detroit rapper whose third album skyrocketed to the top of the charts this week, wants everyone to know he spews profanity, perversity and homicidal fantasies for a very good reason. "Everything that I am doing right now is for Hailie," Eminem explained in a BBC interview last summer. "The money

This reminds me of Madonna and how she spread her trash around to the youths of America for a buck, but then insisted her children not be exposed to the influences of the culture.

Why does Dre put up with Eminem, doesn't he hate the posuer wannabes?
To: ContentiousObjector

And here I was thinking that she might be talking about the Palestinian man who dressed his kid up as a suicide bomber.
As for Eminem, I'd never let my kid listen to his work, but I have to admit an appalled fascination with his newest tune and video.
You know, if we could take over al Jazeera and play Without Me 24/7 for a while, I think we could bring the Middle East to its knees.

Chris Burlingame of Spintech Magazine writes:
Personally, I think Eminem is a Republican, or would be. He is a white guy that doesn't like gays, carries firearms, is at times misogynistic, and, being super-rich, probably wouldn't mind a tax cut. That doesn't sound like any liberal I know.
I just can't bring myself to get excited about anyone who thumbs his nose at the liberal music establishment the way Eminem does. Plus, he's really funny.

If you don't like Eminem:
Don't buy the CD
Change the radio when his song appears
Re-familizrize yourself with the operation of an OFF switch
Don't watch the video on MTV
I could go on, but I won't. IMHO, Malkin, Bennett, Bozell, and a few others belong in the NFL* wing of the GOP. Quite frankly, there are a lot of folks - many of conservative political inclinations - who like Eminem's music, or listening to Howard Stern, and that sorta stuff. We have more important things to worry about than Howard Stern and Eminem.

Unless you have children old enough to be influenced by this crap, your opinion, which you are free to give and I am likewise free to ignore, is meaningless to me.

Sorry Michelle, it's called the free market.

It's hard to tell what your post says until it's read.LOL! Good point. I guess I should change that to if you don't want to hear the truth about your heroes, don't read threads referring to them. You can pretty much get a taste of a thread by reading the title and/or the intro.
How's that?
To: Sir Gawain
Oops! Sorry, this goes for you as well.

I grew up listening to rap. If I don't want my kids to be exposed to it, then they won't be exposed to it, or they will be smart enough to discern morbid fantasies from reality.

LOL I'd guess Shethink13 already DOES everything on your list...
I listened to Eminem's CD at a friends house (her son's copy) The thing is the music is very catchy and nicely done, the words are another matter. It was pretty funny, instead of She loves me ya ya ya it was closer to "I'll kill her bleed bleed bleed." Well, you get the picture. It's tough when these are the lyrics kids are listening to, although when MY daughter was young I JUST SAID NO! (She wasn't too pleased with the decision...oh well)
