Yesterday I nearly deleted an e-mail that I got from petitiononline.com. I thought it was just junk mail, maybe inviting me to sign a petition. Then just as I was about to delete it, I realized that it was a confirmation that my signature was on the petition! This petition was to gain support for discontinuing kosher labels on canned food products. I had read an article about this topic only once before.... on a pro-Islamic/supposedly Mexican radical Leftist website that was full of neo-nazi type articles that were based on Jewish Conspiracy theories. I e-mailed this website a month before, giving them my critical opinion of their conspiracy theories and asked who their supports were. I never heard a response from them. But apparently they saved my email and used it on this web petition.

It seems there are no limits to how these Islamic jerks will take advantage of our democracy to further their radical goals. This may have been a fairly isolated incodent. But everyone be watchful of where your name is being used. If you catch this kind of fraudulent use of your name, report it to the petition site and make sure it's taken off.

The anti-Kosher crap is more than just Islamic propaganda -- a number of neo-Nazi groups (like the one you mentioned) have been pushing the lie of a secret "Jewish Tax" for Kosher labeling.

It does not seem like an isolated incident to me. It seems like a working algorithm for their bull.

I went to the contact section of the site and wrote an email directly to them. I suppose it could have been lifted. But I suspect they simply used e-mails available to them --even from those who were very critical of their point of view. It was a strange site. I think it was based in Berkeley. It looked like it was Mexican and Muslim. And the stuff they were writing was the typical stuff that you'd find from the radical leftist or neo-Nazi sites. Anyhow, when I discovered that my name and email had been used to back an issue I am clearly against I was really pissed off.

This is a little off-topic.... but just who receives these on line petitions and what is the end result of such activity?

I am of the opinion that it serves the purpose of gathering e-mail addresses and names for purpose of spamming you at a later date.

Any ideas?

I wondered about that, too. I believe they do eventually submit the petitions to government officials or whoever else they are ment for. I did consider that it is probably something that may never get notice. But the point is, it was an issue that I in no way want my name associated with and used to support. In fact it is something that I am completely against. Even if the petition ends up being forwarded to President Bush and is thrown away or deleted. If it says that there are 1,000,000 names supporting the issue, and my name is #450. I don't care if Bush never sees it, I don't want my name associated with it at all.
