O'Reilly's Radio Show - question
May 28, 2002 | self

Does anyone know about Bill O'Reilly's radio show. I have a sister in Texas and the show has already been cancelled in her hometown. I find O'Reilly boring on the radio and increasingly so on TV. So its Rush for me!

I predict the entire show will be cancelled within the next few weeks.

I agree.

He seems only interested in espousing his own views via or despite his "guests". And his views are as often wrong as they are correct.

Hi Bill - I know you read Free Republic because you referenced this thread in your show.

Bill O'Reilly is totally awesome. I guess the highest form of flattery is when people conspire to get your show cancelled.

Hang in there no-spin-zoner...

O'Reilly is on the radio station that used to carry Rush before Clearchannel put Rush on their station in Corpus Christi. O'Reilly is a lightweight, but his show will probably last at least a year. After all, what are all the radio stations that compete against Rush going to do have three hours of dead air, air O'Reilly, or air some leftist talk show host?

I have heard parts of O'Reilly's show albeit while travelling because it is not carried anywhere near me. O'Reilly's cable show changed noticably starting at the first broadcast of 2002. I was surprised that his focus appeared to have shifted significantly to the left-of-center where it has remained since. The O'Reilly Factor is now basically the O'Prah Factor and similarly lacks the edge and incisiveness it once had.

O'Reilly's radio show is exactly the same as his cable program with the same loud-mouthed talking heads and politicians. The show takes calls, but not many, which is what I assumed the radio show was supposed to be for. That it does not, I believe a factor in its small audience. O'Reilly is a product of his upbringing, being a northeastern corridor quasi-liberal/neo-socialist that hangs onto a belief that government, despite massive evidence to the contrary, is still the best institution to order human behavior. In other words, like most liberals, he believes that decent institutions can reform corrupt men, instead of decent men reforming corrupt institutions. I still watch the cable show, but since its "Oprahization", considerably less.

A newsmax article says that The Radio Factor's ratings tanked after the first few days, but O'Reilly said that it would be ridiculous to believe everything that you read on the internet.

Rush is a bore.

But O'Reilly's worse. At least on radio. Limbaugh tanked on TV.

I find Limbaugh extremely boring right now, since his show is just one giant commercial for his clothing.

I can usually take the obvious commercials, but when he goes on and on and on about his web site, his product
line, callers that talk about his web site/product line, golf, product line, web site, golf, ...
maybe I'll switch to O'Reilly. Right now, I just turn the radio off.

But O'Reilly has too many commericials, combined with extremely boring topics. His radio style is pretty bad too.

RE: RUSH IS A BORE, O'REILLY IS WORSE, ETC.

Then you should be listening to the radio talk show host that talks about the REAL issues.

Alex Jones. Catch him on a local station or check out infowars.com and listen live (or listen to gcnlive.com)

I listen daily. What clothing line? I don't believe I've ever heard him mention it.

My thoughts exactly. I did catch, and immediately forgot that part of the show.

Bait & switch, me thinks.

Does anybody know is Limbaugh's "fourth hour" is yet another commercial?

(speaking of "fourth", a Savage caller tonight used the line "...Lt. Bush and specialist four Gore.")
