Slave-Owner Descendants Demand Reparations

MACON, GA (LAZNEWS) – A lawsuit launched to reclaim damages suffered by the owners of slaves and their descendant has moved to the 11th Circuit Court of Appeals.

The suit names the United States Government, the NAACP, and several companies that supported Abolition in the 1800’s, most notably Con-Edison and the various Bell companies, which descended from the Morse Telegraph Company. Con-Edison was formed from Edison Company, and the Bell Telephone descended from the Morse Telegraph Company – both staunch opponents of slavery in the nineteenth century.

"The robbery of our legal property will never be forgotten, never forgiven," remarked Samuel Whipback, "Our family was ruined by the Emancipation Proclamation. We demand reparations, now!"

Whipback’s family, who was black, owned over 400 slaves at the end of the Civil War. County property records show that the Whipback plantation was sold in 1872 to satisfy property tax obligations.

"Our family has suffered 130 years of destitution by having our property stripped from us," lamented George Denywater, "I thought America was based on respect for property rights. When are we getting our check?"

Sen. Robert Byrd, (D-WV) introduced legislation into the full Senate today to claim reparations for the descendants of these slave owners. Said Byrd, "We must never forget, the vestiges of this crime against humanity must be repaired."

This reparations debacle, to me, is a perfect segue to an all-out race war. And my conservatism and stance against reparations will not spare me.

There can be no race war when there are good men such as mhking and Trueblackman and Alan Keyes.

These are good people and are a reason to know a mans politics before 'opening fire'.

Laz, you ain't nermal.

My ancestors freed their slaves before the war and fought for the Union, I guess reparations for them is a done not so deal.

Good BSNN post

I am offended by the continual efforts to rewrite the Confederacy into some sort of noble crusade of The-Godly-Southron-Elect against Those-Evil-Yankees-Whose-Feet-Stank-and-Didn't-Believe-in-Jesus How many people say that? I think a lot of us "neo-confederates" are simply reacting to the simplistic notion that the Civil War was a conflict between Union Good Guys and Evil Slaveowning Confederate Bad Guys.

There will be a race war if this goes through--there's a Klucker out here who is PRAYING that reparations will go through, because he thinks that this issue will "racially awaken" whites to the threat posed by non-whites and kick off the race war.

And the Klucker doesn't give an airborne improper relationship about Alan Keyes' politics; he judges men by the color of their skin, not the content of their character.

Sorry, but this is convoluted thinking at best.

There's one caveat here, Laz. This statement of yours is true if, and only if a *thinking* person takes it upon himself to even wonder.

I'm sure you'll excuse my pessimist view of human nature in that cooler heads won't prevail when emotions boil over.

Let the debate roll on, and it comes out.

Whatever legitimacy the secessionist cause had evaporated on 4/12/1861.

I must sadly agree with your assessment of human nature.

Then again, whaddaya expect from a species that shares a brain stem with those noted masters of logic and reason, cats and lizards?

Never happen while W. is in office. He might grant 'em amnesty though.

Maybe happen? What's taxes on that amount?

My family wasn't in the country during the civil war, but can't I have reparations anyway?

We honeymooned from May 21 to May 24. You will note there are NO posts from me or her during that period. :o)

When she gets back I do not expect to see any posts for a few days at minimum. Otherwise you will get the dutch uncle talk from this old sea mamammal.

Seriously, I wish you both all the best and I think Technochick's boss is absolutely a Simon Legree to send her several thousands miles away from her new husband when you two have been married less than a month and you can tell him I said so.

Life is short and no one on their death bed has ever said "I wish I spent more time at work away from those I loved." It is one of those rules of life sort of like nobody calls for their paid nanny when they are wounded in combat. Hey I didn't get to kiss the bride so you are hereby required to give her one extra kiss and tell her harpseal asked you to kiss her for him and I it had better be one that makes her toes curl. I don't even get to give her a friendly peck so when you do it for me put your all into it.

Believe it or not I have met a lady who is rewally nice. She has the essentials this poor ol' broken down sailor needs in a woman bad vision and lousy taste in men. I guess I am still alive but Maryann will always be with me. Hey we were both widowed before and we had of course talked of the experience and she had threatened to haunt me and make my life hell if I did not start seeing women within a month at most. Fortunately she forgave me some extra time.

So remember you owe her one extra kiss for me and She had answer me on a future post it was a good one.

For both of you.

Stay well - Stay safe - Stay armed - Yorktown - I wish you both every blessing and happiness.

All persons black or white who had ancestors in the South during the so-called civil war, nothing civil about it, need to sue for the Yankees leveling the whole place, burning down all the buildings, leaving it worse than it was when the Indians were here. And killing hundreds of thousands of US citizens, and slaves too.

The South was just an exploitable poverty-stricken backwater for 100 years from then on, what had been the richest part of the country. [Per capita; and even the slaves were better off financially than the immigrants were up North.]

Those Northern states now should be sued and put into poverty for at least a hundred years in retaliation.

Hey, it sounds real to me....

LOL I believed it until I got to the name "Whipback", then checked the source and author. I believed it because there is nothing in your article that hasn't been said by some FR neo-Confederates. :^)

Unconstitutional amendment! Let us give reparations for the devestating financial blow felt by former owners of slaves! Reparations now!

I love this. You know, everything in this country is running OK 'cept the judicial system. Mind you, its the best in the world, but the U.S. judicial system could stand a good enema.
