You are right, Revel. At some point concerns over "democracy" will be moot, as the evil one's time will have come round at last. At that point, a powerful delusion will come upon those that "love not the truth". Never mind fighting off that onslaught with firearms; the enslavement of heart and mind will be a judgement for not believing on Jesus Christ.

Unfortunately, this is correct. FR is now very 'big tent' and caters primarily to GOP statist stooges. I was crushed when our host told me that he would vote for a GOP, no matter what. This is what passes as 'conservatism' in this day and age.
Unless we purge the demons in our own 'party' the GOP will not take us to where we need to be.
Read 1984 and see why this will not work. Devotion to a party, rather than principle, is very, very, very dangerous. The aims of a 'party' is to gain and retain power - that is all. This could not be better demonstrated than by the modern GOP.
