425 million-year-old DNA sample found
A British scientist has discovered the oldest sample of DNA known to man.
A 425 million-year-old micro-organism found in salt in a remote part of the US is 4,000 times older than the earliest DNA found so far.
Before this discovery, the oldest genetic material was taken from the remains of prehistoric mammals preserved in ice.
University of Leicester Professor William Grant said his discovery, in Michigan, opened up new possibilities for investigating the origins of life on earth.
He said it would provide a powerful tool for space missions seeking signs of extra-terrestrial life.

I knew salt was often used as a preservative......but this is unbelievable!
I wonder if we could clone this thing and find out what my ex wife's ancestors looked like?

In a related story, an L.A. jury decided in a 12-0 vote that the DNA was planted there by the L.A. police.

"I knew salt was often used as a preservative......but this is unbelievable!" Yup. Looks like we are routinely and continuously exposed to ancient organisms without harm.

All they have to do is open up the Bible & they'll find out the origin of the earth as well as life on earth.

All they have to do is open up the Bible & they'll find out the origin of the earth as well as life on earth. And pray tell...according to the Bible, exactly when does this 'origin of life on earth' take place? Is that in the Bible or may we have your permission to keep investigating the mysteries of all these interesting things that He placed here?

A little testy tonight, aren't we? Yeah, sorry. I apologize. No excuse.
Although I was in MCSE testing all day.
