In their Dogma, it is believed that if they tell a lie over and over, that in fact THAT is the truth. They could in fact pass a lie detector test because of what they believe.

Having bounced around the world over the past 8-years, I truly believe that the ability to tell the truth is unique to Western culture. I presently work and live in South America and they are not above looking a gringo in the eye and telling a big whopper. Even knowing everyone knows they are lying, they still will try the deception. A lot of it is not wanting to be the bearer of bad news...there is a cultural embarassment factor about bringing bad news to a gringo and to a certain extent this is true in eastern cultures as well. Most of the world has not come to grip with the concept of honesty.
