Now what makes you think being an evolutionist automatically means you're an atheist? The two are not synonymous in the least.

I am a Christian and although I don't accept the Orthodox Darwinean evolution (which has been turned into a religion by its proponents) I nevertheless believe in the general theory.

What did I say which implied that I think Gould was an atheist? Didn't I post "May he find mercy and peace"? The guy was an unrepentant apologist for evolution, but what one believes about evolution doesn't keep anyone out of heaven.

Gould, had no problem being considered an atheist and a Marxist. In fact he would probably be quite insulted if you considered him a man of faith and a capitalist.

Actually, I think Gould was an athiest. Too bad. I enjoyed two of his books. Obviously, his cancer was worse than what was reported in the newspapers for the last few years.

Come on junior, atheists are drawn like magnets to evolution - it's their only refuge on the origin of life. Know any creationist atheists?

Better take a course in logic. Denying God's creation is disbelief. The evidence of His involvement is ALL around us - seen and unseen. Either you believe He created it or you don't. Gould in particular, willingly stated he was an atheist, hence, no "intellignent Design" or "Supreme Being" . You just can't have it both ways. It is all or nothing.

BTW the Greek and Hebrew when translated properly state clearly that God created the earth and all its inhabitants in SEVEN days that are 24 hours long. Evolution is not a possibility according to the Word of God.
