So the test is merely to live to breeding age, NOT to pass along your genes? And how does free will enter into it? The mechanical Darwinian model leaves no place for meaningful choice or free will. Ask jennyp. Free will is an illusion. We are just chaotic collisions of atoms and molecules in a big, heartless, cold cosmos. If so, Gould failed the evolutionary test big time.
Unlike you, jennyp is at least faithful to Gould's materialist vision and strictly limited (though admittedly great)intelligence and understanding.
Make up your own double-mind. Bring it into focus, man. You claim to be Christian. Do you possess the Christian Spirit or do you not? What does the Spirit tell you?
Ever thought in the complex play between individual and group dynamics the group composed of individuals who understand when the group's needs or the individual's needs take precedence, and decide to act upon that understanding would be more successful than a group that didn't? What is the definition of free will other than deciding whether or not to act upon a perceived want or need?
I am a Christian. But I also believe that such concepts as morality and free will exist external to God.
