LOW IN LANSING
The low of 26 at Lansing, Mich., tied a record that has been on the books since 1868, and Lynchburg, Va., dropped to 35 to topple the former record of 40 that had lasted since 1875.
Along the Gulf Coast, Galveston, Texas, posted a record low of 56, Mobile, Ala., cooled to a record 48, and Pensacola, Fla., hit 50 degrees.
The cold air helped kick off rain in the Southeast, with showers along the coasts of Georgia and South Carolina.
Heavier rain fell in thunderstorms across parts of Florida, with around 2 inches reported near Key West and Gainesville.
Rain also fell across parts of northern California, with lighter showers extending north in Oregon and Washington.

Right now I could go for some global warming.. Either way it illustrates that the weather nuts really have no clue if anything adverse is happening to the weather. It is like they are trying to predict the outcome of a baseball game by seeing one at bat..
Hold up while I go and let the Polar Bear in...
Hey, didn't you hear? Al Gore proclaimed that we are in the period of global cooling now!
Man!!!!
That's great news... so could somebody come help me get this Polar Bear outta my kitchen?
The enviro-whacko movement and the global warming scare don't have anything to do with the environment nor the climate.
They have to do with anti-capitalism...the gaining of political power and economic control.
Actually I have been out of the news loop for about a week. DO TELL :)
Yeah, you take him tonight. He was over here in Mobile last night. Brrrr (People who planned their beach vacation down here aren't real happy)
It must be an ice age on the way.
The speaker was Henry Winkler (the Fonz). He's still cool. In fact he's cooler than the Fonz ever was. Good speach, with a good message, but not too long and with enough humor to keep the graduates interested. He also said something to each graduate, rather than merely shaking their hand as they crossed the stage to be hooded. (My wife was one of those doing the hooding) He didn't hesitate to "mug" for the camera with the graduates. I don't know how often he speaks at such affairs, but whatever they had to pay him, it was money well spent. The only surprise was how short he is. :)
Up to 18" of snow 200 miles from my place tomorrow - Global warming alright.
