"Hard narcotics" are illegal in Holland. If this is what you're basing your drugs--->political apathy--->legal assisted suicide argument on, you're on extremely shaky ground.
You might want to check your facts before you ramble on pointlessly....unless you can show me where they pass out free heroin in Sweden. Believe it or not, it's actually a different country from Switzerland and the Netherlands!
Gee, I don't know.....maybe (gasp), the majority is in favor of it?
I attribute it to several things, one of them being that the population is too busy using drugs to be bothered about what is happening in the government. They are desensitized.
Considering their population uses drugs at a rate which is consistant with every other industrialized country (that isn't in Asia anyway), that theory doesn't hold much water.
Really? I thought they were one big, happy, socialist global village. How could Sweden's "free" health care sysyem not include heroin? Heck, even here in the US the Democrats love the idea of passing out free needles. "Decriminalize" heroin, and I guarantee the rats will be handing out heroin. So, go for it, if that's what you want.
And some people in this country wonder why we have the perception that we are ignorant about geography.

Gee, I don't know....maybe because it's illegal there? Nah, that couldn't be it....

If it's the choice between that and them occupying a jail space, which contrary to popular belief isn't free, than I'd prefer for the latter option, even though both options suck.
If you had followed the link I posted you would find that the elderly are scared to death over there, but you are too busy being a smart a$$. Find someone else to play with--I don't have time for it.
