She can have 2 investigations if she pays for her out of her paycheck and leaves my taxes alone. I trust the Bush man :)

Statement of Congresswoman Cynthia McKinney on Terrorist Warnings

May 16, 2002

Several weeks ago, I called for a congressional investigation into what warnings the Bush Administration received before the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001. I was derided by the White House, right wing talk radio, and spokespersons for the military-industrial complex as a conspiracy theorist. Even my patriotism was questioned because I dared to suggest that Congress should conduct a full and complete investigation into the most disastrous intelligence failure in American history. Georgia Senator Zell Miller even went so far as to characterize my call for hearings as "dangerous, loony and irresponsible."

Today's revelations that the administration, and President Bush, were given months of notice that a terrorist attack was a distinct possibility points out the critical need for a full and complete congressional investigation.

It now becomes clear why the Bush Administration has been vigorously opposing congressional hearings. The Bush Administration has been engaged in a conspiracy of silence. If committed and patriotic people had not been pushing for disclosure today's revelations would have been hidden by the White House.

Because I love my country, because I am a patriot, and because the American people deserve the truth, I believe it would be dangerous, loony and irresponsible not to hold full congressional hearings on any warnings the Bush Administration had before the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001.

Ever since I came to Congress in 1992, there are those who have been trying to silence my voice. I've been told to "sit down and shut up" over and over again. Well, I won't sit down and I won't shut up until the full and unvarnished truth is placed before the American people. (Cynthia McKinney)

*********************************************************

""I disclaim all of those comments. And let me warn any Republicans who might be tempted to use the comments that were attributed to me, which I have now disclaimed and retracted, to divide and confuse the voters -- I will not stand for it." (Cynthia McKinney)

I am led to believe that the secret investigation into all the reasons for 9/11 aren't going the Dem's way. In addition the final report is due at the end the year. (The first Monday in November, maybe?) Just maybe the investigation is hitting the Clinton Administration right between the eyes, hence the need for an early Democrat offensive. When the damaging reports hit, the Dems want to be able to say, see, see, see, Bush messed up too.

"I've been told to "sit down and shut up" over and over again." (Cynthia McKinney)

Just for the record, would anyone here know who told this woman to her face to "shut up and sit down", over and over, since 1992?

Thanks for posting that link. I'm not in her district so I doubt a letter from me would even be read. I'm working on a letter to the editor of the AJC though.

11Alive's Jon Shirek asked McKinney about critics who called her reprehensible for suggesting that President Bush might have allowed the attacks so his friends in the defense industries could profit from a war. "Well, you know, I never said that, and it's very important that we understand, I called for an investigation," she responded. On March 25, McKinney told listeners of KPFA-FM in Berkeley, Calif., that former President Bush might be making money from the defense industry during this war. McKinney said, "Former President Bush sits on the board of the Carlyle Group. The Los Angeles Times reports that on a single day last month, Carlyle earned $237 billion selling shares...the army's fifth largest contractor." ...Leftist McCarthyism - make a statement that doesn't quite declare but implies something negative, then later you can claim that you never really said that terrible thing everybody thnks you did...I say let McKinney see the latest information indicatng there is some sort of upcoming "second-wave" attack and make her tell us exactly when and where the attack will occur, since she thinks it's so obvious - if she doesn't get it right she has to resign from Congress......how 'bout it, Cynthia?

"The good news is that all of the idiots living in her district will have to deal the consequences of her representation."

Her representation will get them into your pocket. That's why she will be re-elected regardless of how stupid she is. (Everyone knows the game.)

I am betting she gets re-elected. The people who elected her probably think she is great.

Cynthia Ann has also effortlessly moved our lunar base to Mars. So maybe we ought ( ha! ) to moon Cynthia Ann.

No, Sheila Jackson Lee is the gentlelady from mars. They're both ignorant, but in their own unique ways. ;-)

Isn't Ms. McK the rep who won't say the Pledge of Allegiance because the U.S. flag isn't "her" flag, since it stands for racism and slavery in her eyes? Or am I mixing her up with some other Georgia congressperson?

Compton said that she was in the room when President Bush was told of the second attack on the WTC and she could tell by the look in his eyes that he had known in advance.

Do what?? Now ABC is hiring psychics? Is Miss Cleo working for CNN now?? Sheeeeeesh!!

Of course the President knew in advance. He left town and sent Laura up to Capitol Hill for a meeting with Kennedy so she'd be blown to bits.........................

I don't know about that, but during Saturday's freep, I remember McNinney's supporters saying something about the US flags we were carrying. Do you guys know what I'm talking about? I don't think I heard what they said, but one of the freepers replied something about the flag being the flag of everyone in our country.
