Allies "spying" on us are nothing new. The British Foreign Service Office had a large spy presence in the early 40s with the express purpose of encouraging the US government to get involved in WWII. They even sent a spy to seduce Michigan Senator Arthur Vanderburg, who was an opponent of US intervention.

Israelis, Frogs, Brits, etc. all have spies here. Its a good thing that Pollard still rots in jail, although for every Pollard there are probably 100 spies from allied and nonallied countries that get away.

I know. I didn't think it was any big deal when this first broke. Figured both governments wanted, because of 9/11, for it to go away. The reaction of the Israel first crowd is what has been amazing (scroll above to see the deleted replies).

I do think we have to make it clear to all countries that while we know they spy, no one has carte blanche to do whatever they want in our country. Israel does tend to be arrogant. They boast and smirk about how powerful AIPAC is. They figure charges of "antisemitism" is a weapon which will shut everyone up.

It actually has the opposite effect.
