More info on Friendship Force:

We all know that credibility can make a good company great. In only its first year of business, TravelSmart has already established name recognition in the industry. First, Carnival Cruise Lines has gone on the record stating their belief that we will become the largest travel company in a few years, and maybe even less, and they have welcomed us to the industry with open arms.

Second, the Friendship Force is now affiliated with TravelSmart, andTravelSmart now offers the home stay vacation as one of our exclusive products. This Nobel Prize winning organization consists of a worldwide network ofTravelers who are 200,000 strong, 80,000 of which reside in the U.S.

TravelSmart's Chairman, Mr. Nabeel Esfahani, has recently been elected to the Board of Directors for the Friendship Force, and Dr. Wayne Smith who is the founder of Friendship Force also serves on the TravelSmart board of directors.

Some of the names that now endorse TravelSmart are Jimmy & Rosalyn Carter, KirkDouglas, Mohammed Ali, Eduard Shevardnadze, Andrew Young and Ted Turner. Talk about credibility!!!

OK folks, here's what's up.

Some internet sleuths friends of mine found this 1999 AP news brief about Chip Carter, then they began doing some digging on TravelSmart.

This looks like Jimmy is paving the way for some mega-tourist company to make some serious cash in Cuba.

It is most unfortunate that you posted this because it places both Jimmie's and Chip's true missions to Cuba in jeopardy. Of course, the Carters want to bring commerce and Christianity back to Cuba and to destroy the godless filth that Fidelito has imposed, but they want to do it in a fashion that still allows them to make a few bucks.

Jimmie has some degree of diplomatic immunity, so he can bring in key material to help overthrow Fidel. Jimmy will bring blank Panamanian passports, seized in the capture of Noriega, and more cash, mostly non-US, hard currency. Then, if all goes well with the Cuban underground, in six months, Chip will lead a delegation travelling on a large cruise ship that will bring with it additional "equipment" to help complete Fidelito's demise.

While the Carters ARE interested in the tourism aspects after Fidel, much more important is the standard asset, sought after the dispatch of any below-the-border dictator, the Mercedes-Benz dealership.

Whatever. There is nothing we can do about it, so just go out an get your favorite munchies and beer (or your favorite adult beverage), sit back, relax, chill out, and enjoy watching Yimi make a jackass of himself as Fidelito uses him as his stooge. It isn't everyday we get such entertainment -- and it's free.

The question is not: "Why does Carter continue to give advice?" The question is: "Why does anybody listen?"

Jimmie Carter couldn't even be successful at growing peanuts with a lot of government help. He won't succeed at anything else because he is one brick short of a full load.

Good one. I don’t think anybody really listens to him. I am personally amazed, befuddled, and at the same time entertained by Yimi’s public display of vacuity.

Carter, 48, is vice president for International Development with The Friendship Force,

I wonder is this a spin off from the BICC.

Mr. Carter...

Stagflation...
The fall of the Shah of Iran...
The Hostage Crisis...
21% interest rates ( no, I'm not kidding! )...
Cubans in Angola...
Unrest in Central America...
Gasahol...
A law forbidding the recycling of nuclear waste ( France has done it since the Oil Embargo without a hitch ) leading inexorably to the Yucca Mountain imbroglio...

... he just never quits giving, does he?
