Nick Danger and I appeared to be the only Freepers in attendance. But given the size of the crowd, it is very possible that others were there. We spent the better part of the morning meeting with organizational leaders and discussing future legislative projects.

Thanks, Skeet and Nick, for representing all us Freepers who couldn't make it. Did you feel you were in the belly of the beast, a lion's den, or Wonderland?

The only way to fix this problem is to take back the Senate. Rally for that.

Well, it's quite likely that you were the only freepers in attendance if you didn't ping DC and Maryland freepers about this. I'm sure I didn't get pinged.

Thanks for the report, Skeet. Huck is right - we must take back the Senate which Daschle now illegitimately controls.

They were pinged -- the original thread is here.

If you want to be contacted about FR Network events in DC, freepmail Skeet.

Since you've only been at FR a month, you probably aren't on his list.

No problem. Wrong to suspect that you hadn't bothered to ping the locals. Good work. I saw a bit of the CSPAN hearing on the slow-down in judicial confirmation this evening. Sheesh, the judiciary can be anti-democratic enough: nothing like Sen. Leahy et al not acceding to the constitutional will of a democratically elected president. Apparently the Judicary Dems have said that their behavior is justified 'cause the election was "close." I'm still looking to find that theory in the Constitution.

"So what are the facts regarding this issue"

According to Rush - Clinton nominated 20 and got 19 his first year. Bush has nominated 29 and has gotten 11 so far his first year.

That seems just a tad lopsided to me.

Excellent post! I am impressed. More posts should have this research backing it up.

Thanks for the effort. I am looking forward to seeing what your legislative liasons create for future Freeps!

Regards,

TS

I agree. Since when has making decisions about our Constitution woven from emotional whole cloth ever been a problem for the Dems?

I don't see it as a fairness issue. To me - in this instance; The Republicans followed the Constitution, and the Democrats ignored it!
