This particular paper routinely is on the lunatic fringe of reporting and is the least reliable of the six or so papers I've read.
Dawn is probably the most mainstream, but you see anti-government or anti-Musharraf stuff printed there pretty frequently, too.
No reason for anyone in a civilized country with access to the Internet to take this seriously. The pathetic part is the fact that the press in the Muslim world frequently puts out stories like this. There are people in those countries who read this crap and believe it.
Recall Propaganda Minister Goebbel's reports of Hitler's "secret plan" to win World War II, which was announced as the Allies were closing in on Berlin. The downside of such garbage as this is it gives the enemy a false sense that anything but defeat after defeat are happening to their side. This is intended to deceive the enemy "soldiers" into continuing to fight.
In short, stories like this will cost a few lives of Americans and our Allies. They will cost many lives of the fools on the other side.
