The immediate political battle is over: Cross Sound Cable Co. is about to bury a 24-mile-long power line beneath Long Island Sound between New Haven and Brookhaven, N.Y.

Just don't expect the uproar over the project to disappear when the cable is placed under the seabed - a process that is expected to be completed by the end of the month.

"Resources are irreplaceable," he said.

Surely, when discussing shellfish that are harvested from the sea floor, only to be replaced by the next generation of shellfish, that statement would best be characterized as "knowingly false". But, it's rare to see eco-lying confronted head-on and challenged with eco-truth these days...

Very interesting- Saint Simons Island, where I was born & grew up, was fed power via cables which crossed 5 or 7 rivers- forget how many, but each had a "cable crossing" sign on each bank so boaters would not drop anchor there.

Naturally, a few did...

"Part of our claim is that this project will do irreversible, severe environmental damage, which is true," Blumenthal said.

In other words, sometimes I'll tell you things that aren't true, and just so you can tell the difference, I'll specify which are true.   Sheesh!
