Okay, folks, let's help South Dakota get rid of at least half of their Senatorial dynamic duo--Democrat Tim Johnson. Go to the John Thune Website and donate a few bucks. I just donated $20. It will be money well spent if we can help take South Dakota out of the wacko-liberal-commie-utopian hands. You can donate on line at this link or you can send a donation by mail. The address is:
John Thune for South Dakota
P.O. Box 516
Sioux Falls, SD 57101
I live in Redmond, WA, so the only benefit this has for me is knowing that it will send a message to Tommy-gun F Daschle that his days in Congress are numbered. The good folks of S.D. have hopefully seen enough of him.
Please ping me if you donate. Thanks.

Time to put words into action! I dream of the day I will never see either of these Democrat Senators from South Dakota on the news! Can you imagine how much better life will be without Tommy-gun F Daschle in power?!?!

I'll cross my fingers. Everyone knows that Tom Dasshole would pour billions of dollars into this race if he could. Obviously, Thune is the better candidate, speaker, and legislator; but South Dakota is full of Scandinavians, who have soft hearts and soft heads.

Anyone know the latest poll numbers?
To: RushingWater
Haven't heard any for awhile, but the last ones I saw had Thune up by 8 or 9.
Johnson is toast.

It is important not only to take out Johnson in 2002, but also Wellstone in MN and Harkin in IA this year. If we can accomplish that, little Tommy Daschle will be very nervous indeed heading into 2004.
It is my firm belief from talking to many people on the ground in all three of these states that the old psuedo-populist schtick of Daschle and Wellstone and Harkin has worn exceedingly thin.
But it's still up to us to beat them. I for one think we are very well positioned to do so with Thune, Coleman, and Salier in Iowa.

South Dakota is full of Scandinavians, who have soft hearts and soft heads. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Them there are fightin words,, Seriously, what this state is full of is corn growers and democrates that are very organized. The twin tornados of tommy and timmy both threw out incumbents that were well liked. Johnson has a huge war chest of money and is running ads already. The good thing that I see and hear is the staunch dems that I talk to are no very happy with good old tommy, but I live in the beautiful Blak Hills which are in the west,,the east part of the state is a whole different animal

We can only hope and pray. To get these guys off the political landscape would be akin to having Bush instead of Algore as President--a breath of fresh air!

Already donated about a month ago and probably will again before it's over, although I'm concentrating more on Talent and Coleman because I think they're 50-50. I think Thune will win by 10+.

Thanks for your contributions. Suggest you both drop a line to Tommy Dasshole letting him know that thanks to his obstructionism you feel compelled to help replace his boy Johnson.

Here is the message I sent to Tommy-gun F Daschle at
Tommy-gun's Email:
----------
Senator Daschle,
Just a note to let you know that I have contributed to John Thune's election campaign. I, for one, am so tired of the diatribe of Democrats. You obtain votes by putting fear into the masses, then raise taxes so you can alleviate those unfounded fears. You are also practicing the politics of obstructionism, using your majority seat to override the will of Congress and the American people. I hope this does not continue for much longer.
I realize you are not up for election this year, but when you are, I will be contributing to your opponent.
----------
Again, everyone who can, please donate a few bucks at
John Thune for South Dakota Senator

It's August and being SD born and raised, it's an honor for me to bump this thread about John Thune to the top.
I would love a Daschle-less life in America. We have TD fatigue as far south as Florida and John Thune's got the experience and he seems more professional than Johnson. Johnson's nothing special IMO. Johnson isn't effective and we need to take back the Senate, the sooner the better. FV

As a full-blown Norsky, I take exception to that.

Have you seen Johnson's new campaign ad where he tries to score points using his wife's breast cancer of a few years ago? I was sickened by it. Might have been the most sickening campaign spot I'd ever seen, except perhaps for the Texas NAACP ad against Bush in 2000. That, more than anything, tells me Johnson's beginning to see the writing on the wall.
