Armed Robbery Occurs At School
Victim Had Just Come From Nearby Bank

DENVER -- Deputies are searching for a suspect who held up a woman at gunpoint Tuesday afternoon while she was in a school parking lot.
The woman, Elsie Lester, told Arapahoe County Sheriff's office that she drove to the bank on South Federal Boulevard and West Belleview Avenue during her lunch break.
As she pulled up to the parking lot of Field Elementary School on 5402 Sherman Way, a man came up to her car and put a gun on her windowsill and demanded money.
Lester told the suspect that she had just made a deposit and did not have much money.
The suspect took $40 cash and her car keys.
The suspect then left the area in a turquoise green minivan, possibly a mid-nineties Dodge Caravan type vehicle, deputies said.
The suspect is described as a white male, about 30 years old, with dirty blond hair that is spiked in the middle, and wearing a white T-shirt. He also had very "bad teeth," according to Lester.
The suspect threw the victim’s keys in the exit of the school lot and drove off on South Sherman towards East Belleview Avenue.
Lester said that she first noticed the suspect near West Belleview and South Hickory Street and may have followed her from the bank.
My gosh! That will wake you up. Wow. Armed robbery at a school. I am sitting here absolutely shocked.
